Oh shit im on the verge of freezing to death DAMN!! I left my deck of cards at home! Nothing like a good game of solitaire to keep your mind off the fact that your toes are about to fall off.
Hey at least the kid is thinking worst case scenario! I think each kit is different from one person to the next and also a work in progress. The more u think about it u figure ways to cut weight and better equipment Ect! Good video! Although I don't agree with Ranger Rick (survival kits should weight under 1 pound).
psst, brushing teeth is one of the causes of decay, abrasives in the toothpaste, one of the marketing genius inventions. "Civilised" refined sugar eating people were always surprised when they met "primitive" people who had perfect teeth. Diet and hydration is key to dental health.
Piece of advice. This is too much I do SAR and this is way to heavy, you will tire yourself out. For example, you only need 1 box of matches, not four. You also don't need all these. Unless your planning on surviving the zombies. and paracord supports 400 pounds but it has a very high stretch ratio.
The only thing your missing is laser flash flairs you can get them at wallmart sometime I bought like five boxes there's four in each box and there a dolloar a box it's a thirty second strobe even better signaling than smoke but I like the smoke balls idea I'm getting some on thurs
He is kid and he will learn.I believe that he meant not survival but bag out bag and those are two different things.Hope that you all complaining survival pros would show some knowledge and give hem some useful advices. Also he said he remove a lot of things.
@bwhsamick he meant survival! he has pretty much what he needs to stay out for a mlong time. the bug out bag is only 3 days. he has enough matches for like 5 months of fire
@UrbanSurvivalTactics Ok then I am wrong. To me the bug out bag and situation that demand one means stay away from trouble as long as possible and that my be a lot longer then 3 days. There are 4 basic things you need to keep in mind and take care of if you want to survive, for example accident like plain crash in remote area and those are water, shelter, fire and food. Priorities should depend from area and conditions where you find your self.
@UrbanSurvivalTactics Around these for things one should build survival strategy and collect equipment. To be short. To me.. bug out stay away from home as long as possible ..survival come home as quick as possible.Of course In ether situation you can choose for little bit comfort and things that can increase your chances but you have to think about wight and volume if you don't want to end up throwing things.
@UrbanSurvivalTactics No need to apologize.I just tried to help fellow survivalist/prepper :)) and motivate others to do the same.By the way,he has advantage among the majority of ppl these days, only by thinking about emergency situation whatever it is.
guys chill,, it may not be the best but its good.............. and most of the people talking crap doent even make videos......................... it may weigh alot but this is like a luxury survival kit or a vehicle bug out bug... ,, anyway this kid has a real succseful channel now...
this video sucks ass u dont need half the shit in here that is way to much weight to carry and ur still missing stuff like a way to clean water and a way to cook ur ramen noodles
bro... ever heard of the 10 C's of survival? you have like 40 sum odd things there. you could improvise more than half of that shit in the wild, and it wouldnt require a grown man to carry it all.
Thats not a survival kit - its a camping kit. u just need 5 things to survive : A knife (in my opinion a bowie would be best), a cord, a metal bottle(to boil water and keep it), a covering (nights can be very cold also in deserts), and fire or a way to make fire (fire steel, lighter, matches, a parabolic mirror, a handdrill, a bowdrill or just some glasses) .These are the 5 most important things u need the other stuff u have makes surviving more convortable but to survive u need these 5 things.
@MrScootscoot123 cotton in a straw will not filter water effectively. Use a "trick" like that on "dirty water" and you're quickly be introduced to some nasty bugs.
GOOD SO FAR...GET DEET, A GOOD .22 CALIBER PISTOL, AMMO, BATTERIES, WATER....WATER...WATER! DUAL RADIOS, & THEIR BATTERIES. THE MSR DRAGONFLY STOVE IS THE ONLY ONE I TRUST. BEST FIRESTARTER?...BLASTMATCH.
A good tip for cutting down on weight and redundancy. You don't need an axe and a machete. Toss them both, and get a large knife that has a thick back to it. It will suffice for the task that both of those do. I would highly suggest something such as the Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri. It can cut logs/sticks/ whatever you want... and you're not carrying extra stuff :)
@PianoKammy Replace a machete + axe with a machete only? CS "Kukri" is a light flexible machete blade in the "shape" of a Kukri, it still needs all the energy to come from your swing like a machete and regardless of what some infomercial say it's not the right tool for chopping large logs.
Better bet is just go to the source and get a Kukri then you have a fantastic multi-purpose heavy blade.
@mryellow123 Sure, I'd go for the legitimate Kukri too if I had the choice. I've handled/used the cold steel though... and I wouldn't quite call it too flexible and "Kukri shaped". It seems pretty legit to me. Whatever floats your boat though. It's all good :)
@PianoKammy It's a usable tool for sure, but nothing like a Kukri apart from the shape. Differential tempering (hard edge, soft spine) and massive weight on a real one. CS works like a machete where the power/work comes from your arm rather then the weight of the blade. Real one works much more like an axe.
Well that's a lot of stuff ,but we all started out likeing our gear a lot..I think your doing great.your very smart.and youv got a propper kit.your altoids stove is something iv never seen before.I like it so much I'm going to make one .keep it up.you show a great deal of promise.
Good job with the kit! don't listen to all the tools talking shit but you might want to think about losing some of the extra stuff remember its about staying alive if you are on foot you want what ever you are caring to be as light as possible! Good ideas just try to down size it so its easier to get into Keep up the good work!!!
i just wanted to tell you that that isnt really paracord other than that nice vid, i should have a survival vid up in less than a week if you wanna check it out im writing this january 21st 2011
@sharpshooter1296 I teach wilderness survival, and no you might never need or even use half of that but the military does not carry 140 lb. Bags, that would kill them a pack should be 1/3 to 1/2 your body weight, and the military teaches you that. This pack, your right, probably weighs about 15 lbs. But that's almost half of what you should carry.
Honestly that's an amazing kit, I don't know what all these whiners are talking about. If you can't carry 10-20 pounds are your back your a weak link. Seriously how can you all say that it's heavy if military personnel can carry 140 pound packs and take a 50 mile hike, we all need to get in better shape if the world is gonna end.
too much needs to be basic not a walmart in a bag but great idea ima redoing mine to fit in a russian army bag, i already have my ammo, guns and knifes ready. but at least ur geting prepaired
The only thing that you´ll realy need are your skills dude. You'll never let your head at home so you should work on it and then you'll realize that you are carrying a lot of stuff that could be supplanted for other things or maybe you'll never use and, for the weight, you only get tired in a survival situation
hay dude i would recomend narrowing that stuff down to the essentials it is a survival kit if something goes wrong for specific circumstances aka bush or urban try seporate and narrow down
Main thing with a survival kit is what you can fit in your pack and what is most comfortable to carry(40lbs average). Water is the most important and heaviest thing you will carry so you gotta have room for it and containers for it. Especially in a desert enviro.. A container that you can boil water in is a must have. Also your kit needs a tube tent cost like 6 bucks and a roll of toilet paper. Wiping your ass witha pine cone and leaves sucks hard, trust me. Otherwise nice job :D
I'm sure he prob has a three day bug out bag somewhere, but remember, you may be trying to survive at your own home, therefore he would not have to carry any of this gear, except what he may need in the immediate area. Also, brillo pads without the pink crap and a nine volt battery will start a fire easily. Tampons are also good for filtering water.
I like the kid's kit it shows he's thinking and prepared. I have my own pack kit which even holds a crossbow for hunting and defense, but this kid's kit looks well thought out even better than my own...sharp kid.
Paranoid or not, I would rather have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. Kid you just need to get orginized. Make up lists like hygene, fire, lighting, food, first aid etc... and put each group together. you do not know what you have or where it is. Get some good pouches and watertite boxes and a quality book bag like a Jansport. good luck
@MikeReynolds522 i really dont think he has to many. if anything, its a good amount. the machete for brush, hatchet for chopping logs, a big knife for cutting stuff, or defense. I would carry another fixed blade and a folder for a last line of defense
good kit but i agree with ebecker10 u gotta carry ALL that stuff around with you and plus you have got two of a couple of things and that'll weigh you down. and one more thing: a survival kit is meant to be a small compact kit with the essentials that kit is a big CAMPING kit.
just a suggestion. Learn to use proper lighting and stay calm and focused when talking, no need to rush.It would make viewing and understanding easier.
nice try kid but you have way to mutch stuff for this to be a survival kit. survival kits are a last ditch resort when you are seprated for you camp gear. what you have now would work for a camp gera pack, but what would happen when you are seprated from this pack. a good survival kit shuld be small and compact that you can have on you at all times. check out PackRat556 youtube page he has one of the best kits i have seen on youtube. its a two part video so look it up and re-think you pack size.
wayyy to much for careing with you boy is too much man you need a some small kit survival not this big kit for camping lol..aniwhay nice vid. and stuff
Yeah I agree its a nice amping kit. YOu deffinantly have the wright idea. Its very thourough. Too thourough. YOu have like EVERYTHING you have ever seen in any Bear Grills or Les Stroud video but you could never carry it all. Its nice to have all that and have everything covered but I would like to see you do a video of just what you could carry which would actually be a survival kit. Im not knocking you you have some great stuff but you need to cut it down to a reasonable carry size.
you should micro this...make yourself another smaller "essentials kit" something where you have it with you PERIOD in case you get lost, get hurt, etc....awesome stuff though! I want it!
Haha nice. thinking of making my own kit. I'm so damn paranoid and scared of something happening so you need to hide in the woods and stuff. i'd add compound bow and shit in mine. LOL.
i see what u guys are saying about yhaving to much stuff and you are so right but i mean if i was stranded tshis would cover about anything you needed to do. It would be hard to lug around but it would be nie to have
Your teeth are not going to rot in a couple of weeks and this is way to big for a survival kit. A kit should be able to be on you at all times. Only the eccentials. Are you really going to lug this around with you when you go into the bush. Just some thoughts.
This is such a trend in the USA right now. VERY COOL ~!!! But in reality, most of the time you would not use it. You can spend TONS of money doing this. Its fun for sure. hehehe
get rid of the screws and screw-driver, the back of your hatchet is a hammer, just keep the nails. Plus you will waste a lot of energy trying to turn a screw into a tree without a pre-drilled hole.
@offyam I hadn't thought of colloidal minerals. I think of my survival kit for use in any possible situation. If I have to barter in a long-term situation (government collapse = currency collapse), a gold coin might be good for buying a weapon, but is too much of a loss for just ammo and some cans of food. Small cheep, silver coins with no collectible value today would be perfect for purchase in a crisis. The best part is that they are small and light.
Well you have some great ideas, I kinda like the tracking tape idea. That's really smart of you. Gives me some ideas about it. :) Good job on the kit. Sacred^
you had so many matches it looks like your trying to start a wid fire dont you lisen to Smoky"only you can prevente wild fires "lol

DeaanL 1 year ago 2
@DeaanL A Machete can be used by someone who is much younger than 14
Odysseus154 1 year ago
good kit but i agree with ebecker10 u gotta carry ALL that stuff around with you and plus you have got two of a couple of things and that'll weigh you down. and one more thing: a survival kit is meant to be a small compact kit with the essentials that kit is a big CAMPING kit.

just a suggestion. Learn to use proper lighting and stay calm and focused when talking, no need to rush.It would make viewing and understanding easier.
Great parody video EYELOL'd.

You carry what looks to be about 2x your weight in junk that you haven't even taken the time to use. Good luck surviving.

That is a really big kit!
Its really cool, but of course, its too big for hiking.
Good work on that!

nice try kid but you have way to mutch stuff for this to be a survival kit. survival kits are a last ditch resort when you are seprated for you camp gear. what you have now would work for a camp gera pack, but what would happen when you are seprated from this pack. a good survival kit shuld be small and compact that you can have on you at all times. check out PackRat556 youtube page he has one of the best kits i have seen on youtube. its a two part video so look it up and re-think you pack size.

Cut down on everything. A survival kit needs to be portable not all in your house laying around.

You do realize you live in a "armed to the teeth" nation. You got to protect yourself chief. Good start with the knifes.
Check mine out. Its more combat oriented. keep up the good work.

Im not knocking you you have some great stuff but you need to cut it down to a reasonable carry size.
bwarrior 1 year ago
will need an army to carry that.(considering I am an ex-soldier).
You have the rite idea, thats more than I can say for others.
Try looking on you tube for hints on how to make into smaller kit so you wont get exausted by the time you put the pack on.
After all that stuff you will need clothing and food.I would trade the trash bags for a tarp.Try bushcraftnorthwest.
U can use twigs for cleaning your teeth.
rip up trash, use it to start fires.
lighters for mattches.
Keep going buddy.

you should micro this...make yourself another smaller "essentials kit" something where you have it with you PERIOD in case you get lost, get hurt, etc....awesome stuff though! I want it!

Haha nice. thinking of making my own kit. I'm so damn paranoid and scared of something happening so you need to hide in the woods and stuff. i'd add compound bow and shit in mine. LOL.
pewse 1 year ago
i see what u guys are saying about yhaving to much stuff and you are so right but i mean if i was stranded tshis would cover about anything you needed to do. It would be hard to lug around but it would be nie to have

little to much but super awsome kit
ingramcattleco 1 year ago
Fuck carrying all that around... I really think you've confused surviving with camping.
RetardPwnage 1 year ago
watchin surviver man wont help much when your out there go practice with it and get rid of most of that crap and put in some stuff that will work
ratherbeehunting 1 year ago
Mh you need about 3 backpacks to get that stuff in dont ya? And still no tent, sleeping bag etc...
Blaineeer 1 year ago
Your teeth are not going to rot in a couple of weeks and this is way to big for a survival kit. A kit should be able to be on you at all times. Only the eccentials. Are you really going to lug this around with you when you go into the bush. Just some thoughts.
nickwoo2 1 year ago
This is such a trend in the USA right now. VERY COOL ~!!! But in reality, most of the time you would not use it. You can spend TONS of money doing this. Its fun for sure. hehehe
urkingod 1 year ago
get rid of the screws and screw-driver, the back of your hatchet is a hammer, just keep the nails. Plus you will waste a lot of energy trying to turn a screw into a tree without a pre-drilled hole.

@offyam Dang good point

You need to add cheap silver dimes (1964 and earlier) to your kit.
matthewtaylorbrown 1 year ago
@matthewtaylorbrown cheap silver dimes.. what for? Colloidal silver?
offyam 1 year ago
@offyam I hadn't thought of colloidal minerals. I think of my survival kit for use in any possible situation. If I have to barter in a long-term situation (government collapse = currency collapse), a gold coin might be good for buying a weapon, but is too much of a loss for just ammo and some cans of food. Small cheep, silver coins with no collectible value today would be perfect for purchase in a crisis. The best part is that they are small and light.
matthewtaylorbrown 1 year ago
Well you have some great ideas, I kinda like the tracking tape idea. That's really smart of you. Gives me some ideas about it. :) Good job on the kit. Sacred^

@TheSacredKier depending on the type of bark you could mark with the burnt end of a stick.
