google "HFCS and mercury" then look into "mercury madness" and detoxing mercury with far infra red saunas, one of THE best methods to detox heavy metals.
Laying off the HFCS and other chemically made items in food will drop your weight and improve a lot of health issues. I was addicted to junk food and after a few months of cutting back I slimmed down considerably.
And the Media is still pumping out news asking, "Why are people gaining more weight? Why are more people obese? Woe is us, we do not know what to do." When will they admit that it is the Processed food such as HFCS.
If it comes in a box or a can, don't eat it. Buy your food from the outer perimeter of the store. That would be produce and meats. Buy organic and buy local if possible. The food industry has no interest in your health. Like any business, they are only interested in profits and the only people they feel a responsibility to are their shareholders. If you don't look out for yourself no one else will.
After decades of Hershey's Syrup addiction, not to mention my HFCS consumpton from so many other sources, I was recently diagnosed with a fatty liver. And I DON'T drink. I have now sworn off HFCS. I have Ibs, and its been said not to eat corn cause its hard to digest if at all...so I started looking at the labels for corn and just thought corn fructose was corn made into a sugar...so i stopped eating things that have it...I dont drink soda, only drink tea...IBS sucks...but that crap is everywhere...i went to a nutritionist and found out my sugar is very high and i dont drink enough water....is there a fat ibs person out there cause i cant gain weight worth crap.
Fructose is actually one of the healthier sugars out there, because it's digested relatively slow. The thing is, ALL sugars are bad in high amounts. That's it! It doesn't matter if it's table sugar, fructose, glucose, etc. It is not the type of sugar, it's the amount taken. Why do people eat so much of it? Because it tastes good, so people (YOU!) buy sweeter products, and companies create them to keep up with competition. So, the message here is true (eat real foods), but the reasoning is wrong.
This guy nailed it. I quit drinking sodas and consuming these chemicals such as HFCS. Now I eat real food that is from its origin. And I can honestly say my workouts have improved tremendously because my body gets the right nutrients it needs to perform at its best state.

things with HFCS are addicting... when I was in middle school I was def. addicted to soda, probably drank 10 a day LOL. It never quneches your thirst... once I was 16/17 I went cold turkey, and now I don't even like coke so much, I've had it only a few times in the past year and it wasn't even american coke with HFCS, it was indian coke with real sugar. I'm so glad I stopped drinking soda.
I live in Canada and recently went on a trip to Maui. I really had no idea how much HFCS was used in the States compared to Canada until now. I couldn't find bread without HFCS in it.
Then I couldn't find a jam that didn't use HFCS.
Canned vegetables and fruits even had the stuff in it.
I definitely noticed an increase in my appetite while I was there. I came back having gained weight even though I worked out everyday. Definitely glad Canada doesn't have the same issues with HFCS...
It is incredibly hard to find bread and groceries that do not have it in it.
I went cold turkey on HFCS about a year and a half ago. In the grocery store I found this one brand of itialian bread called "cellones" that did not have HFCS in it - the only brand I could find. If you wanted look for applesauce they might say with cinnamon but they also include HFCS.
People think that this is a conspiracy but by avoiding HFCS I dropped 30 pounds in 4 months without any effort or going hungry.
It's true that candy and soda made with highfrutose corn syrup has a better sweetness, and I can tell you from my own experience that it is addictive. Thanks for posting this.
thanks for the educational info, I know I will never stop drinking soda or eating foods containing HFCS but I'll try and remember this video.
Almost everything contains it, there is POISON in food throughout America and the USDA knows but doesn't give a sh*t, it's all money and profit, more sick people more drugs they can't create for it.
My mother is a registered dietitian who has been fighting to reform the public school system in Kentucky for the past 10 years in order to get tougher restrictions on the foods sold.
It's been a tough fight because the foods that include simple sugars, enriched flour, etc. are cheaper to produce and store and thus gain larger revenue for the school. Currently, the schools are well funded by these junk foods, but the children's bodies are being poisoned in the process.
What really stinks about our society is that it's driven by money. The companies that make the HFCS couldn't care less about our country's health, but their own pocketbooks. It really stinks
when HCFS is made caustic soda is used on the corn kernel caustic soda contains mercury wake up mercury is highly damaging to brain tissue do your research
corn syrup is american way to keep their people in a state of sicness so that they are easier to control. no way would our people ever think of using such poison! unless of course we are feeding americans who think chinese food is chicken balls and egg rollls.. americans please educate yourselves. fresh fish and rice is simple and healthjy
We need to keep this kind of information flowing. Some day your ability to say the things that are in this video may be illegal. After all you are giving medical advice, NOT REALLY.
It's just the most basic form of common sense in the history of evolution on the planet. You don't burn beautiful food that can feed people. You don't burn beautiful food that can feed people when half the world is starving to death because of the international bankers and their manipulated kronie governments that trap the poor people into debt. Now they say burn the food. Do you listen? NO!
This is so true. After having cancer. To recover and feel better i changed my diet alot. I totally cut out hfcs and along with working out and eating whole foods i have lost 17 pounds.. and my hair and skin is better too.. it really a great thing to cut it out.. huge benefits..
Nice & straight forward video. There's a lot of confusion on HCFS.
If you want, sign on to a campaign to get cola companies to switch to beet or cane sugars at thepoint[dot]com and search for corn syrup ...I just added my name.
Hopefully this helps us to start the path to better corporate responsibility. Cola companies seem to use cane or beet sugar in countries outside the U.S. Why can't they simply do this stateside?
For gods sake. Those companies fund all kinds of things including if you can believe it, CIA take overs of democratic nations so that they will accept world bank loans, and become indebted to America. They are evil, it's as simple as that. So what I'm saying is don't buy their lies, don't buy their garbage, boycott Coke, Pepsi, ALL OF THEM. Boycott 100% and warn everyone. They want to poison you, that's it. Simple, don't buy. Don't "write" them?? Write to Hitler and ask him to be nice - WOT...
Why is High Fructose in all of our food? Why is it so hard to find food without High Fructose Corn Syrup? Why is food without High Fructose Corn Syrup also listed as "All Natural" and cost so much more money? To be healthy and eat healthy you have to read food labels and spend more money. You pay one way or another either up front buying healthy food or as a co-payment at your doctors office.
OMG YES! This is what people need to do! Ask questions! People stopped asking questions about what was in their food long ago lol! If everyone started asking these questions...we could get somewhere!
Dont have to worry bout me! I'm a happy healthy vegetarian! I dont eat anything modified or artificially flavored!! But this video is really informative! Great job!
studentoflife let me educate you, or better yet..actually listen to the video and get educated...like he said if you have more than 2 years you shouldn't willfully poison your body. With all the junk your parents are giving you it wouldn't be a bad idea to do a fast to cleanse some toxins, also the fast will inspire them to look into different food options and you can educate them, trust me, life will be better off of junk food.. and btw you can buy food and pick fruits in the wild.very healthy
What about High Fructose corn syrup is it bad for the human body can it be proven to be safe like all the television commercials have America believing. I feel that it is man made and hard for the body to digest. Is it addictive does it cause health concerns over time, can it be proven that High Fructose corn syrup is safe. Why would most heath food stores carry products listed in bold "No High Fructose Corn Syrup" if it wasn't a threat?
dude you are sooo right. today i think i ate at least three things with high fructose- a tootsie pop, the stupid 7 11 white bread my dad bought (why is there even sugar in bread???) and poptarts that came with my school lunch, idk about the cinnamon roll bagel n cream cheese i had w/ lunch cuz idk where the school gets them from. and your right about it being addictive, it's been happening to me with the tootsie pops. hmph! ugh this is soo annoying.
"In Defense of Food" by Michael Pollan: get it, read it, follow it. It's the simplest formula for commonsense eating in this crazy agri-business dominated country.
Ive consciously stayed away from refined sugars for the last few years. Now if I have it, my body reacts highly to it. Yesterday I had some soda and soon after, i was depressed and ADD. I also noticed the next day I craze more junk food. It can put you on a roller coaster diet because the junk you eat, the more you crave.
our bodies are essentially our temples, and defining the quality of your life by the food that you eat is dangerous! your life should revolve around the things that you do and the people that you love and do them with, and treating your body in a healthy way keeps you alive and thriving so you are around for the living. i see more obese people simply existing.... the healthiest people on earth often have the most rewarding lives.
Unfortunately, one's body weight is little indication of whether or not one has or will develop, type 2 diabetes. The mindset of rewarding oneself with food is a malcious and dangerous one. You eat to live, not live to eat. If the latter is the case, which I feel it is with you, you need to find other outlets other than food.
In Canada, where the government takes much responsibility for it's citizen's health, HFCS is outlawed. Unlike in the USA, where sick people HELP the economy.
Very informative! Believe it or not I seen a TV commercial recently attempting to "educate" consumers about HFCS and claiming that it's harmless!! Guess who it was funded by?!?
Check out my video about Gatorade and it's link to HFCS. I think you'd enjoy it.
Excellent video! It was about two years ago I determined the ills of HFCS. As I explain it to my friends "Just try to avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup and or Aspartame for one day and you will notice how much stuff it is in." So if it is remotely dangerous this is bad.
I was JUST at the store, there more then half the store was off limits for us due to HFCS.
when my wife was pregnant we where told "DO NOT USE HFCS" and guess what we listened and we have a MUCH better looking baby then most others;) this stuff is 100% TRUE!
Thank you for this video. There is a new PR campaign being launched by the Corn Refiner's Association. I saw the TV ad ten minutes ago. The ad was vague and simplistic, it defended the use of high frutose corn syrup in children's drinks. Saying it was no worse than sugar. I went to the website shown at the bottom of the screen. Then i clicked on the 'press kit' tab.
I don't think we should take our nutrition ' at a glance'. Especially when you know these corporations who make these products, would not benefit from putting the consumers needs before their bottom lines.
If any one remembers, there was also another 'Nutrition at a glance' campaign launched not too long ago. By General Mills. They put the high lights of their cereal's sparse nutritional value smack square at the top of the box. Where everyone can see, so that consumers can feel better about buying their products.
This is what the 'press kit' tab read when i clicked on it.
"The Corn Refiners Association is launching a multi-media advertising and public relations campaign to change the conversation about high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). This online press kit provides factual information about high fructose corn syrup, including expert perspectives, as well as campaign details at a glance."
Awesome video! I find it very interesting that many other countries do not allow food to be manufactured with this sugar substitute while the U.S. does.
A very good point was raised here, and take heed. Please understand the old saying, "You are what you eat". I cut HFCS out of my diet almost 6 months ago and can't begin to tell you how much better I feel. My girlfreind, who is naturally (by genetics) at risk of obesity, cut out HFCS about a month ago and lost over 15 lbs with no other change in her daily regimen. That stuff is POISON and should not be allowed in our foods. Listen to the good doctor here. He's right, and I'm living proof.
Looking at labels in the store shows you its almost impossible to buy anything, other than whole foods, that does not have fructose or some sort of artificial sweetener added.
Bar'B'Que potato chips, cream cheese, coke-a-cola, and candybars. A dyn-O-mite combo! It's all good for you! Provided you take it straight from shelf and drop it in the trash!!!
They say that a lot of companies use HFCS because it is a "dirt cheap" sweetener, but what is afforable to companies always comes at some other cost. I guess something that will aid in purging a lot of this stuff from your body would be fasting and drinking lots of water; accumulation of this stuff in your body doesn't seem good at all.
i eat and drink tons of that all the time, and i have not gotten diabetes yet! but I have been starting to eat better, i just need more ideas of some good food
i have been eating a lot of carrots, grapes, types of melons. Turkey and skinless chicken has been my only protein unless i give up and eat some beef.
and vegetables, actualy they are way more important than fresh fruit and a primarily fresh fruit diet can cause all kinds of problems from excess sugar and acids...
Real sugar? No such thing as real sugar. Most sugars come from fruits and also from dairy. Honey is a form of sugar as well as maple which is sap coming from the tree itself.
You have an egg head like Adam Sandler; but thats ok because everyone likes him. Doc Egg, hmmm could be a good spiderman super vilan!!! Or Doctor Huevo in spanish, makes it sound exotic; oh wait that really sounds like porn scratch that.
Um we eat this crap because we are poor. Food is expensive. If you can't afford it, you live off of soft drinks. Three meals a day like you are talking about costs $5/$10 a day every day and takes an hour to prepare. Two liters of cheap soda costs you $.69, takes no preperation whatsoever, and stores forever because even bacteria won't eat it.
Dried beans and rice are dirt cheap and form a very healthy meal when eaten together. Cook 'em in a crock pot and you have to spend almost no time in prearation.
Very very good video! A friend of mine who is only 19 just found that he has diabetes. The only thing that I've ever seen him drink is soda and everything I've ever seen him eat has a ton of processed sugar in it. I feel like I should have tried harder to help him stop, but at the same time almost EVERYONE that I know is pretty much the same way. Last week I saw a mother at the local park putting Pepsi in her baby's bottle... :(
Unrefined Dehydrated Cane Juice is a lot better. Molasses is a much better form of cane sugar as well. However, that is not a crystal. Also, don't forget the many other natural sweeteners. Look them up.
One thing many people don't know about corn is that it is highly contaminated (nearly 100%) with mycotoxins, which are poisons given off by fungus and are known to be highly toxic to people. So, not only does HFCS mess you up, you're also getting a double whammy by consuming the mycotoxins. Think about it, alcohol can be made from corn, and alcohol is a mycotoxin in itself. Look it up.
"Subway" produce some of the most unhealthiest sandwiches out there. A program aired in Great Britain a few weeks back and they came out on top for high salt and fat content. A 12" sub is seriously high salt. Toxic waste, packaged to look cool & trendy.
My wife and I manage at a Subway. Recently, Subway reformulated the wheat bread and added "whole grains". I noticed a while back that the new wheat bread contains HFCS.
What you say about the salt and fat content is true compared to a simple McDonald's burger.
A 6" Turkey meal deal (w/ chips and 21oz soda) will easily add up to over 700 calories! And that's low-balling it.
FYI: The bread of a footlong sandwich is AT LEAST 400calories.
After taking a nutrition and foods course I took HFCS and corn syrup and a lot of refined sugars out of my diet. Within the first week of doing this I had more energy and my cravings for sugar decreased significantly, not to mention I lost weight! :) one of the best dietary changes I've ever made!
I recommend reading the book Water: The shocking truth that can save your life. by Paul and Patricia Bragg 1995. :) In other words, DISTILLED water is the way to go!!

things with HFCS are addicting... when I was in middle school I was def. addicted to soda, probably drank 10 a day LOL.

Thank you, again.

Why can't they simply do this stateside?
free2hug 3 years ago

Why would most heath food stores carry products listed in bold "No High Fructose Corn Syrup" if it wasn't a threat?

our bodies are essentially our temples, and defining the quality of your life by the food that you eat is dangerous! your life should revolve around the things that you do and the people that you love and do them with, and treating your body in a healthy way keeps you alive and thriving so you are around for the living. i see more obese people simply existing.... the healthiest people on earth often have the most rewarding lives.

kiril1 3 years ago
kiril1:
Unfortunately, one's body weight is little indication of whether or not one has or will develop, type 2 diabetes. The mindset of rewarding oneself with food is a malcious and dangerous one. You eat to live, not live to eat. If the latter is the case, which I feel it is with you, you need to find other outlets other than food.
In Canada, where the government takes much responsibility for it's citizen's health, HFCS is outlawed. Unlike in the USA, where sick people HELP the economy.

Excellent video! It was about two years ago I determined the ills of HFCS. As I explain it to my friends "Just try to avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup and or Aspartame for one day and you will notice how much stuff it is in." So if it is remotely dangerous this is bad.

Then i clicked on the 'press kit' tab.
mexicanratt1 3 years ago
I don't think we should take our nutrition ' at a glance'. Especially when you know these corporations who make these products, would not benefit from putting the consumers needs before their bottom lines.
mexicanratt1 3 years ago
If any one remembers, there was also another 'Nutrition at a glance' campaign launched not too long ago. By General Mills. They put the high lights of their cereal's sparse nutritional value smack square at the top of the box. Where everyone can see, so that consumers can feel better about buying their products.
mexicanratt1 3 years ago
This is what the 'press kit' tab read when i clicked on it.
"The Corn Refiners Association is launching a multi-media advertising and public relations campaign to change the conversation about high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). This online press kit provides factual information about high fructose corn syrup, including expert perspectives, as well as campaign details at a glance."

He's right, and I'm living proof.

crayonsiheart 3 years ago
They say that a lot of companies use HFCS because it is a "dirt cheap" sweetener, but what is afforable to companies always comes at some other cost. I guess something that will aid in purging a lot of this stuff from your body would be fasting and drinking lots of water; accumulation of this stuff in your body doesn't seem good at all.

Look it up.

well put!! Heads up "Subway" uses it in the bread. And its in 89% of most packaged food.
Davecaverave 3 years ago
I worked for subway, and if you think the stuff is healthy? ur DEAD wrong
not only is this toxin in the bread, it;s in many of the meats, and sauces, and even kid's meals/
writertrump 3 years ago
"Subway" produce some of the most unhealthiest sandwiches out there. A program aired in Great Britain a few weeks back and they came out on top for high salt and fat content. A 12" sub is seriously high salt. Toxic waste, packaged to look cool & trendy.
beardfreak1969 3 years ago
My wife and I manage at a Subway. Recently, Subway reformulated the wheat bread and added "whole grains". I noticed a while back that the new wheat bread contains HFCS.
What you say about the salt and fat content is true compared to a simple McDonald's burger.
A 6" Turkey meal deal (w/ chips and 21oz soda) will easily add up to over 700 calories! And that's low-balling it.
FYI: The bread of a footlong sandwich is AT LEAST 400calories.
Save yourself and pack your own lunch!
