  • I have a Edirol PCR M-50 , I had broken keys due to something being wrong with the metal contacts (not the rubber ones) which none of the tutorials on youtube could fix. I just found the solution in an internet article.

If the problem is in the metal contacts, try rubbing them with a pencil eraser, it worked real well for me. I wiped them thoroughly with a wet cloth right before and that didn't help but the eraser worked

  • Thank you very much for your video. I have a Yamaha DGX505, and just like CornyChalky in Romania, some of my E and B flat keys aren't working. I will try your method, and hopefully it will be working again.

  • Hey, thanks for posting this! I'm going to try this tomorrow... I have a Yamaha keyboard that I was playing regularly (trying to learn) for a few months before life got in the way and it was a couple of years before I picked it back up again. The whole thing lights up, but none of the keys are working. I'm hoping it's just dust or the bit of moving that affected it so it will be a quick fix like this one... wish me luck!!

  • I used to have a DJX and the contact assembly is a little different than the synth keyboard. The easiest solution is to buy some compressed air in a can, like the kind that you use to blow out your computer keyboard. I can't remember if you can take the bottom off the same way you can on the synths, but if you can get to the contacts try blowing some of that compressed air on the contacts. Also try to use your vacuum cleaner after you blow it out to suck up any excess dirt. Good Luck.

  • hey I have a yamaha djx and I have problem with the rubber contacts. Is there a way to fix it?

  • @Iam18yearsolddddd I might be a little late answering your question. Use tape head cleaner (denatured alcohol) or rubbing alcohol which you can get at Wal Mart. It should be 70% or higher concentration.

Rub it on the black rubber conductive pads. It will renew the carbon conductive granules. Also rub their contact surface.

It worked for the Atari 5200 controllers, all TV remotes with those rubber buttons... and almost every keyboard on the planet. Amazingly simple!!!!!! Even the CS-80

  • Cool. Glad it worked out for you

  • Hey- THANK YOU for taking the time to post this. I had exact same problem (all g's & F#'s not working), used your technique and in about 10 mins. all is working great! I (and my daughter) thank you! FYI: for others attempting this...none of my "plugs" appeared loose, but made sure they were all tight and it worked.

  • holy crap, awesome!
