Put an instant respawn overshield in the pilot place, and stay there. when it says "flip elephant" keep doing it cause it makes you stay airborne. I put the fusion coils on instant respawn ( press x on them, put spawn time to 10, press x again, put run time minimum to the number of fusion coils bought and placed) and it also works. I did a glitch with 4 grav lifts pointed in different directions all at me and i stayed on it was a crazy ride.

another way is to go into forgdge and put a tank in there at an angle and pull it into the air

In forge, place as many fusion coils and plasma batteries on the elephant, then set the run time minimum to max(fusion coils are 16 max and plasma batteries are 8 max). Then shoot them, I tried and it works, you can also place gravlifts too.(run time minimum set to max because they'll be blown to bits)

The gravlift method is much better because sometimes it will drop back down so position the gravlifts facing the walls that they push all the fusion coils and plasma batteries so they explode.

2. Put them all over the elephant.

3.Go over the fusion coils and plasma batteries press x twice and set thr run time minimum to the highest number it can go

4. Shoot it

i have a map where u can actually pilot the elephant.  if u put grav lifts in it, then put drop pods on the lifts, it works (or, at least, that's how i think it works)
