Dude, PS3 doesn't use red lights to indicate hardware failure. If I'm not mistaken blinking red lights on PS3 indicates that the system is overheated and needs to shut down. I believe that if the PS3 beeps, blinks then the light turns yellow, that is the PS3 equivalent of the RROD. It's the yellow light of death. Also, it's a fact that statistically PS3 is more reliable than 360, not an opinion.

I love PS3 with all my heart. I've had the same one since it's release. The other day I got the (for the lack of a better name) flashing red light of death. This video is showing a system with it. When a PS3 powers off, the light flashes green. I'm not sure what causes the problem, exactly. Anyway, I've got myself a slim and the old one's on its way for a replacement. LAN games, here I come. :)
