A group of friends and I are planning on going hog hunting this fall down south. We don't have any hogs in my area so I'm envious. I hope you guys just keep feeding and promoting population explosion down south so I can hunt them around home in a few years.

Man hogs are terrible. Here in Oregon hogs are still very low in population, but are expanding rapidly. Around here we are trying to kill them off before they expand more - or at least trying to control the population.

Wild hogs are a huge problem here in middle Georgia. A friend had to call in trappers and they've taken about 20 of them off her farm. That's a sorry mess! Looks like hog hunting is going to be huge this year.

They've gotten pretty serious about controlling these here in Michigan. An excerpt from the DNRs website:

"Public Acts 69-71 of 2010 declare feral swine a nuisance species and allow for the opportunistic take of any free-ranging pig running at large. Under this law, a person with a concealed pistol permit (CPL) or valid hunting license can kill swine running at large on public property; landowners or other authorized persons can kill swine running at large on private property..."

is there a way you could put a post into the ground, hang a cross-beam and hook the feeder up with a rope/pulley? Then when it's time to fill up, just lower the rope. Make sure the rope attachment on the post is high enough so the hogs can't chew the rope.

Do you have proof it was a hog? I think you are just discriminating against hogs... I think it is much more likely that it was Chupacabra or Bigfoot... Look in the video of the hogs they are just moving around inspecting the area checking for grass fleas... Stop blaming the innocent hogs... NOW if you guys were dealing with the RADIOACTIVE HOGS they have in russia I would agree.

Suspend the feeders from the trees and start hunting hogs rathere than deer. Hogs are a guarantee that you will never go hungry. While it is hot and you have the time get your hands on some of those signs that have all the air pockets in it like cardboard paint them black face them southward and you will have a solar heater for when it is cold you can hunt with comfort from the sun. Or build some other style of solar heater you will really appreciate it when the season opens.

Would it make any difference if you sunk the legs of the feeder in the ground about a foot or so? Deep enough to where the hogs couldn't knock it over but not to the point where you can't pull it out of the ground.
