It drives me up the wall that BOTH candidates support faith based inititive funding. Ive noticed that the Democrats have been trying to lure Christian voters, for example by opening with a prayer at the DNC. But of course the Republicans cannot be out-jesused. So they both move toward a "godly" platform. Funny thing is that I doubt McCain or Obama are actually christians, but they understand the voter base. Its annoying, so I try to destroy the churches' ideas from the ground up.

Hmm, "public policy based on reason and science." Given how poorly that works in the rest of the world, where GMOs are scary and BSE was dangerously infectious, I doubt the Americans have any chance. You have to deal with both God and irrational fear. Best of luck to you.
