Gary Lucas is so cool! Everything that he does is great. Saw him a few times, once with Beefheart, and another time with his band, GODS & MONSTERS. All of his stuff is so creative. i just wish he'd play more concerts.
Gary's magnum opus. As much as work of art as the film itself (no wonder a 6 year-old Vincent Price was so scared by it when his parents took him, he wet his pants!) GARY LUCAS 4EVR. Love, Lucy Chase Williams.
thank you so much for posting this mr.lucas. this is without a doubt the most beautiful thing that i've ever heard. i go on youtube simply to watch this, and the fact that it's set to the golem just makes it's perfection even greater.
Saw this with Gary Lucas just last night in Melbourne, Australia. Absolutely incredible, and Gary Lucas came across as a great guy with a good insight into the film. He gave a short speech before the film and answered some questions afterwards. I'd recommend this to anyone if you get the chance.
The music doesnt sound like a live guitar butt still, it makes teh movie seem more creepy, I own the origional verson of hte Golem, too bad it doesnt have this soundtrack.
Breathtaking...I've read about "The Golem" for many years, but never seen the film. This excerpt is amazing, and the music is perfect. I don't think I can imagine it any other way now, and I want/need to see the entire movie.
Love to see what Mr. Lucas could do with "Nosferatu" or "Metropolis." Many thanks for sharing this clip...
He HAS done Nosferatu. See his CD Improve the Shining Hour: Rare Lumiere. The last track. Gorgeous. More creepy/gorgeous stuff, like Golgotha and Breath of Bones on the same CD.
This is absolutely amazing - wonderul and evocative music, sir!:-)

I really hope there comes a DVD of Der Golem with Gary's soundtrack... this clip is amazing.
Perhaps the recording on Skeleton-at-the-Feast will sync up to the film?

Go to Gary's website. There is a DVD-R of The Golem for sale.

Seen this twice in Chicago and Atlanta. I try to get to NYC to see Gary play at least once a year. But so far not in 2007 :(
