I get those too, what I do is I stop eating garlic and greasy foods I think those two combined are the colprits. It's a digestion issue stop eating crap and your burps won't smell like a rotting corpse. :)
this could be caused by several things but the one the dr's tend to have trouble figuring out is this ; 1st... when you have the sulfur burps,do you have a bloated stomach that feels like you just ate a whole watermelon ? do you have terrible smelling gas ? are the burps worse at night and less in the morning ? if so... i think i can help..
Cut out sugar, starchy veggies, and most carbs. Have butter when cooking, olive oil for salad dressings, and seriously avoid lamb and lamb fat, coconut oil, and most other vegetable oils. Make your carbs come from salads and non starchy veggies. Avoid milk, and have cream instead, and say bye bye to the blasted sulfur burps, forever.
I have this same problem every once in a while.. the burps taste SOOOO bad like burnt popcorn mixed with rotten eggs or something lol I found that drinking some pepto bismol makes the burps taste less horrible though, for me anyway.. If I try to hold in the burps then it makes me have really bad heartburn and my spine starts to hurt like crazy. Good luck though man, hope they go away for you or you find a cure
I've been having this on and off since September last year. Doctors can't seem to find what it is and at times I feel perfectly healthy. If you ever figure out what it is and if theres a cure to it please tell me.
Also just wanted to thank you for posting this. More people need to come out and bring attention to this strange and often chronically debilitating condition. Many times doctors are extremely puzzled when someone describes it. It's awful and can be frightening especially to an emetophobic individual like myself. :( I haven't had them in many years, but it causes a lot of anxiety because you don't know exactly what causes them in the first place. We'll find an answer and I wish you the best!
Hey man, I just wanted to tell you that there are literally thousands of people in the US alone that seem to be experiencing this condition. I first had them when I was 12-13. The common feature seems to be something causing your digestion to halt/slow so that food is able to putrefy in your gut. There can be many causes to this, such as gastroperesis, giardia, an allergy to certain preservatives, i.e. Sorbate, MSG, etc., lactose intolerance. It's horrible and depressing. Needs more attention!
Has a doctor or health care professional mentioned that you may have giardia? It's very common all over the world and causes nausea, watery diarrhea, vomiting and in some cases sulfur burps. Also can cause fatigue & weight loss among other things. Usually a course of a certain type of bacterial antibiotic is used to clear this up. Good luck and be careful. I've heard that this is easily passed from human to human or through a water source.
@BrapAllgood thanks. I've been changing my diet trying to figure out if it's a certain food allergy to no avail. I am loosing weight :) but still getting sick once a week sucks.
@icebreaker7 Nausea and I are old 'pals'. I feel you, buddy. Diet is definitely the first place I would look, but not necessarily the only...I mean, I had some issues that cleared up when I quit using Right Guard, for one example. In this society of poisons, it's hard to connect cause and effect at times. This is why I call myself a Life Scientist at times. :) Experiment, experiment, collate data, experiment, eat, shit, sleep, repeat. Or something. ;)
