well, i am the second guy. We both have our strengths and mine is not weapons. Mine is video editing and that technical stuff. Twilightfox109's is the commentary and general knowledge of the weapons. Because of that, i tried to put my input in where i thought appropriate and this was when we were first making videos, so it was not good by any means. I would recommend watching something more recent before making smart-ass comments. Without my technical expertise, there would be no videos or TMFTP

IRDC lol I would just suggest watching something much more recent like our MW2 multiplayer videos or the campaign. I have been working on my own commentary and things like that, and these old videos that are almost two years old do not accurately reflect upon what we are capable of nowadays. So the only thing i am asking is that if you watch something old like this, don't say it sucks or anything because this is when we were new to the video thing

ak-47 is kind of old weapon, today armys are using AK-74, AKM, AK-101-109 Allso Aks-74u

but 47 is sheap and trusty weapon. unlike m16

it was, the ak 47 is based off the stg 44.

i cant remenber but i think mikhail (did i spell it wrong?) got the idea from a battle where a german army was surrounded and nearly cut off. they flew mp44's to the army and about 9000 germans were equiped with it. they later in a few weeks broke through and left mikhail injured. later when hitler inspected the generals he asked them what they needed the most. they replied more mp44's, later in a field test hitler amazed by it renamed it the stg44.

While they look similar, the internals are very different. That's why you can't really say they were based on each other. The StG44 had a short-stroke piston with a tilting bolt and the AK47 had a long-stroke piston with a rotating bolt. You can't really say the AK47 and the M16 are based on each other because they're both gas operated.

Unreliability of the m16 during vietnam was because of the crappy ammo which it was not designed for and which caused excessive fouling alongside with the advertisement that "it is self cleaning".

You were right about the chrome lining but it itself is not the cause of the lack of reliability. Chrome lining extends barrel life which is a aspect of a reliability of a weapons [/nerd mode]

You are also 100% correct. The reason the ammo was crappy was because they changed from ball powder to stick powder. Stick powder, while being more powerful than ball powder, was also much more corrosive which cause the non-chrome plated bores of the M16 to pit and that jams the rounds. Had it remained ball powder, they probably could have gotten away with not plating the bore

Loved the Nagant! The recoil is large, but then again, not too much bigger than any other bolt action combat rifle of the time. Much bigger recoil than a Garand but the Garand has a recoil take-up spring. I love guns with big firm kicks. It mostly kicks back and not up so it's easy to keep under control. And you can light a cigarette off the muzzle flash ^_^

They are the same gun. The StG was the original designation but Hitler was dead-set against the idea of an assault rifle so the military brass called it the MP (Maschinenpistole) 44. That way HItler thought it was a submachine gun
