If we didn't have the massive wars in our past, it would probably be closer to 7 or even 8 billion. So even though wars intemselves are bad, they did help us out a little in the long run. Also most scientific discoveries happen in times of war.

I'm sorry but Moore has to pick a strategy. He can't have it both ways. In one instance he says that we should have put more troops into afghanistan instead of diverting them to iraq so we could get bin laden. Now he says most of the hijackers were from saudi arabia (true), doesn't now why we are in afghanistan, and supports sending special forces into afghanistan.

Afghanistan is a complete cluster fuck, that is true! Yet the US cannot just leave. Unlike Vietnam, if the US leaves Afghanistan it will give a false sense of bravado and empower Islamic fundamentalism.
