  • You should wait till the bird comes to you, if they want to after taming.

  • 0:18 Finch: No, no please no!

  • i have a male two month old zera finch, he is hand trained, and flys to me when i whistle, i recomend hand feeding them, the see you as there parrent, but it can kill the baby zeebee

  • Someone please help me idk if my finch has died in the nestbox and at the same time I don't want to disturb them because some have eggs

  • It's easy to catch them in the dark as they won't fly in the dark. If you don't happen to own a butterfly net try throwing a light sheet or something over them to catch them if they get loose. Make sure all windows are shut before trying to take them out of their cage.

  • They don't fly fast and I would always catch them in my hand. They are adorable.

  • i am loving her outfit lol!!!

  • Hello Expert Village. How do I make Love to my Finche?...Thanks!

  • an easier way to catch them is to throw a light scarf or some sort of material on te bird and it stops moving so u easily grab it and put it back in the cage

  • The one I've got is wild. Found him on the ground outside. Nearly stepped on him. Brought him in, gave him emergency half and half corn syrup, water. He now is on bird formula. Researched it, following all directions. This guy is very happy to hop on my finger and he just sits there. He takes the food very well. I've been checking his crop and feeding about every hour. He can fly short distances, but is happy to just be on my hand and hang out. Will let him go outside after weaning.

  • @cpgne man i gatta give it 2 you i wouldnt be able to let it go

  • whats the point of a pet bird that runs away from you.

  • Just dimming all the lights in my apartment triggers my finches instinct that it's time for bed to get them back in their cage.

  • These are retarded videos. They explain nothing! She just repeats common sense stuff!

  • i have the same cage for my cockatiel

  • I heard Finches are faster and hard to tame

  • @SLIPKNOTFREA They certainly are, if they ever become tame at all.

  • The best way to handle a finch is to dim the lights in the room and use a towel. If you find the bird is hard to catch, don't try to chase it down for more than 5 or so minutes. They are capable of stressing out so much that they literally go into cardiac arrest. Once you manage to catch the bird the only restraint you should ever use is from the neck up. Place the bird's neck between your fingers and their back against the palm of your hand. NEVER PUT PRESSURE ON A BIRD'S CHEST.

  • towels can be dangerous because they can land on them hard.

Best way is to appraoch them very, very slow, as birds are sensitive to instant motion an dthen cup them gently between two hands, with open palms. Make plenty of space so they have room to breathe, like in a box and then open the cage, open your hand and let them fly back on their own. They'll trust you more that way whereas in my experience, a towel will scare them in time sto come

  • This video is so worthless! She doesn't even show how to pick up a finch -- only how to handle one after catching it with a net! She says, "The best way to approach a finch is from the back." Then she edits out the most important part -- how to get a finch in your hand so that you can handle it! Also, the resolution is less than 360p. Rating: one star.

  • I am considering getting 2 finches, I have a cage already set up with feeders and waterbowls, are they worth getting, can you tame them? Are they easy to breed? How big do breeding boxes need 2 be?

  • @DanDaSimmer i love having mine they r kinda funny lol if u want to tame them get a couple and wait for babies then hand feed them and they will get used to u so they wont be afraid of u.. the parents well u cant tame them easily or u cant i think

  • @1k1ll3rp0ll0 Thanks, i plan on breeding them :)

  • The large net maybe to put over her head

  • you dont go round saying that to people, id love to see what you look like, obviousely your very insecure

  • u loooked like as if u were squeezing the bird their to tight

  • A tired bird can be easy to apprehend depending on the situation. A hand held water spritzer is another method to limit their mobility if they prove too elusive, since the extra water weight makes them easier to catch.

  • If one of my bird escapes, I just wait untl it get's tired of flying. Then I gently pick it up and put it back in the cage.

  • cages with the "guillotine" style doors (slide up) like the ones you have are the most dangerous because birds can get trapped in them if they happen to get the door open.....

  • prefer fish net as well...

  • kewl i now know wat to when my birdy wont come to my hand anymore :)

  • WRT my previous comment, I am refering to getting them out of the cage, not when they have escaped.

  • shouldnt you catch them with a small net? Catching them with your hand while they are flying could injure them...

  • What should be added is to close all curtains and blinds to prevent the bird from injury by flying right into the window thinking it can escape. Also not to hold the bird too tight or it will suffocate.

  • can i use the same way for a lovebird or a budgie

  • lovebirds will bite your damn hand off. parakeets dont care tho

  • you COULD, but you can also train them to step up on your finger. Look on google for how to learn to do that.
