Hey, i just got my micron about 2 months ago, and one thing i can't figure out, is when i create a phase and latch the phase to a key, there is sometimes an awkward pause inbetween the end of the first phase, and the beginning of the repeated phase. would you happen to know anything that could help me get rid of this pause, and have a continuously looped phase?
@SuperKarf Honestly I love the Micron but I think the "Phrase" function is a useless piece of sh**. Dont use it, instead program a pattern and use setups.
@misterbearmagicman Nothing. At the time I didnt even have an audio interface, it was directly in the microphone jack of my laptop, and recorded with audacity lol
Hahah people freak out trying to learn this song with all these huge pianos and you make the best video of all of them with something that looks like a Childs toy. Well done.
i'm new to synths, is this using JUST the alesis micron or is it connected to a computer? does it have a tracker built in? basically what i'm tryin to ask is it capable of creating full songs by itself
This is one of the most accurate covers I've seen done on here. Sure beats the hell out of people using wholly incorrect presets and playing out of rhythm with MGMT's "Kids."
Humm there are several parts here, nothing too fancy. The beat is a modified version of "four to the floor" or something like that (I dont have my micron here). For the pad you can use whatever you want basically. The bass is an arpeggio of course, with +1 octave, but cant remember the patch for that. The lead is a sequenced square thingy. Really nothing fancy for the patches, the only thing is building the sequences
I love the micron but i hate crystal castles, the singer honestly almost ruined the NIN concert with her screeching vocals and by taking so long to get off stage....
lol never saw them in concert, but I love their music and remixes, very simplistic. But NIN vocals arent very smooth either, Im surprised you found CC screeching!
Yeah she was screeching throughout the whole song, i dunno which one it is, but NIN came on and played a cover of "Cars by Gary Numan" so i quickly forgot all about them, i really shouldnt insult her, shes just not my cup of tea though....
Hey thanks! Yes it's all done on the synth, you can put as much as 24 (something like that) "parts" on a setup, but obviously you will be limited by the polyphony so you wont be able to play them all on the same time. But with a polyphony of 8 you cn still manage to get something decent. Btw nice vids yourself, excellent use of the little korg!
Hi. thanks for the comments, they're really useful. I was just curious really, i have a microkorg and am saving up for a loop pedal, but am very impreseed with the micron's 8 loops, which must be useful. :D
can i make love to you

@SuperKarf
Hey SuperKarf. The reason being for the pause is because the phrase records in 4 bar / 8 bar / 16 bar
Say if u record only 3 bar of phrase, micron will pause a bar and before looping back to the first beat. Hope it helps.

is this all done on the Micron? - if so, how many loops can you have at the same time?
novadavies 2 years ago 5

Yes it's all done on the synth, you can put as much as 24 (something like that) "parts" on a setup, but obviously you will be limited by the polyphony so you wont be able to play them all on the same time. Yes all done on the micron.
Max Loops? 8. That's it's polyphony. You can have about 26 Parts/Patterns/Loops, but you will hear a maximum of 8 notes at any given time.
So if one loop uses for example Bass and Snare for a rythm at the same time it eats already 2 notes.
If you are interested in the different loops it comes with I will upload samples of loops, rythms and whole setups over the coming days.
