Well yeah, but x4 is still enough to see what your doing, and most people on Youtube don't have and attention spand longer than around 5 minutes (Not to be mean or anything :P).
Besides, alot of the time it appears as if there's no progress going on, you want to give atleast some illusion of progression :)

I think you could try making a remake of the Steeplechase arcade version using the Atari 2600 version as a template of sorts.
