some of the tone, he owes to the horn. i'm not knocking wynton he's my hero but the Monette has a lovely tone and a huge sweet spot on every note. and he makes the most of it.
What I have noticed is that there are still young guys who do play traditional Jazz but what I see as unfortunate is that the audience for the music lacks young people.
I prefer the Louis Armstrong version, but Wynton does this song Justice and I know that he highly respects Armstrongs work so he would have practiced for hours to get this song just right

Nice combo of Louie's 1929 - 1933 & 1936 versions. Wynton put a little flavor of his own but nice job.
