Eeven if he scored most of his hits attacking the German bombers comming back to Germany after they were damaged, he did a great job!

He was getting rid--off:

-1) expereinced air crew;

-2) by finishing off the bomber, he was preventing the Germans from fixing it.

Germans are very resorceful: in a battle in 39, the Poles knocked--out and blew--up circa 30 German tanks --- Germans collected the small pieces and re-made using a few new parts ... 5 tanks!

The main difference between the Brits and the Poles or the Czechs was...

the Brits viewed the Germans as out--of--control Germanic brothers.

The Poles viewed the Germans as dangerous criminals, vampires, and unlike the Brits, showed the Germans no galantry!

All the Poles and the Czechs did was ... make them blow, splash, or crash!

It is sad that Czechoslovakia did not agree in 1934 or 35 to the preemptive war proposed by Poland against the Germans (arming themselves slowly since 1929 only).

I was lucky that it all happened to me, a history fan, But if it happened to me it probably happened to some other polish or czech people traveling or working out there,

I also met few teenagers who told me that we Poles should all be killed by bombs during the war, I could reply "Who would destroy those german airplanes then? If I may continue with givig those short examples, One day to the home where I was living came an old man who worked for a gas company to do some stuff, He asked me where Im from, When I told him that Im Polish he smiled and told me a story of his friend who was polish pilot in UK during the war and he told me he was a great companion and joke teller, Once I was stopped by old Lady on the street who made a remark on architecture of some building..We started a conversation and she told me a story

Polish pilots had over 220 confirmed victories over german fighters and bombers in Battle of Britain loosing around 30 planes themselves, For every 8 pilots prticipating in this battle 1 was Polish, Through the whole war polish pilots destroyed over 500 german aircraft, Not mentioning over 60 thousand Polish soldiers fighting on the western front, Those who returned to country ruled by soviets faced terror, many imprisonment and some even death, Thats all we recieved for fighting for Your Queen

I didnt mean to be that critical on them, They gave us opportunity to fight the Germans, they gave us aircraft, guns and our grandfathers used them well, Thats all Brits could give us, Independence was out of question, The memory is other thing, Maybe the main reason is the lack of education, But I remember that during my 3 months stay in UK in three occasions I met old people who remembered polish troops in Britain and that was very moving, I really felt so proud of it

Tak z tego ci mi wiadomo To J.Frantisek polował na wracające samotnie bombowce. Często już uszkodzone i ledwo lecące. Zawsze sie odrywał od formacji nie mówiąc nic i udawał sie nad kanał.

Dostal bardzo duzo odznaczen i orderow zarowno czechoslowackich jak i polskich(4 Krzyzu Walecznych i Virtuti Militari)i brytyjskich. Wiec nie wydaje mi sie ze dostal te odnaczenia z byle powodu.

Na przedostatnim zdjęciu jest Jan Zumbach. Polecam Jego książkę "Ostatnia Walka". W "Dywizjonie 303" jest niestety trochę niegroźnych bajek. Zumbach dość jasno opisał sposób, w jaki Frantisek zdobył najwięcej zwycięstw. Dyskusja na ten temat trwa przy pewnym czeskim filmie- może dołączycie :)
