Hats off to some pretty darn good aviators! And besides; the things these guys could teach human air traffic controllers about collision avoidance in thight airspaces... B-)
So adorable! I love seeing them play and hang off the Vamplet toy heheh .. OHH when they peek up and look right in the camera like " hi there" soo cute. All the bat talk and bell ringing too much bat fun!! Love the bats and bat world!!
This is so fascinating! They sound like squabbling children. Some of the noises they make sound almost like laughter. I never realized bats were so vocal.
The ones flapping in front of the camera at 3:17 and 13:52 are so cute and funny. "Look at ME!" The squabbling squeaks are just too much. And the face at 8:20. Like "Hello?" Just a bunch of kids running amok, aren't they?
i Love what you do as an organization. please keep it up. you make my life better, and if you need copy written for free from a veteran, or a journal article based on research written, please let me know, as all writing for Bat World from myself would be a labor of love and free, free, free! bats and humans who realize the importance of chiropteras are my heart (also, I have a master's degree in Rhetoric and Composition :). <3 and xxxx and ooooo! :)
my night was crappy until I saw a 'reminder' that this video was posted and watched it. I never giggled and had such a smile as watching the camera-hogs via for a spot on the camera, flitter in front of it, give 'wing-pit' shots and the chin/snuffle/closeup and so much more!! This is wonderful to watch and sure brightened my night!!! I think 'nosy/curious' would not be what most folks would describe bats until after seeing this proof. Great job!!
My goodness, there sure is a lot of squeaking going on at times...are they all trying to sit on the camera at once? May I ask why they are so intrigued with the camera? Is it because it is new or does it have some lights or sounds coming from its operation?
@LeeM501. Yes. I think they are squabbling about who gets the best spot on the camera. They are probably attracted to both the blinking light and the fact that it is new.

I was surprised to see so much interest in the camera. They really are clever little creatures, aren't they?

I don't think I've ever heard a bat before. Those squeaks are absolutely adorable!

They sound like scolding squirrels :)

This is wonderful. There is so much misinformation about bats that it's nice to see them as playful, curious creatures.
