Hurricane only featured on the "keep your distance" track on davy's ride as far as i'm aware... And i think that cat was the beasties tour DJ back in the day too
It does need a little bit of compression on that odd bass kick that hits hard but I like it and all DMX's stuff. I am guilty of lack of compression.....
I thought I was getting old and figured this album didnt exist. I cant find it anywhere. We used to roll to it in the old days...Bumped it through my alpine pullout, 12" Cerwin Vegas and my unic amp.....
This album was the future... just didn't know it at the time. One of my favourites, and definitely one of the most underated albums of all time. Nice one!
It's funny the title track "Davy's ride" (one for the treble part 2) is nowhere on youtube- I bought that 12inch just for the Brother's Johnson "ain't we funky now" horn blast sample before the bassline starts at the intro of the track. same one on Roxanne shante's "Bite this" and on "have you seen davy" on this same 1987 album
ME TOO..... but the show was @ amphitheatre in Nashville ........ Davey opened up ........ Beastie Boys w/ Hurricane followed ...... then RUN DMC ....... one of the greatest & NON VIOLENT rap shows .....EVER !!!!!
good comments in here for good music!

I have an original mint US CD pressing of this album. I've no idea how much it's worth. A great album, though.

@Boomshackattack The quality impressed the heck out of me back in the day. It sounded so damn good, loud on any system off of a cassette back then.
