not 200 or 2000. translating across one language can change a meaning. and then translating to another language can change it even more. go to google translate, start with one sentence, translate it from english to any other language, copy the result and translate it to another language, and again copy the result, continue the cycle twice more.

now translate the result back to english. what does it say? how do you interpret the result?

The thing is that we do have the original texts all of which have very little differences between them including the dead sea scrolls and the bc septuagint. I'm not saying that all the meaning is transferred as some is tied intrinsically to the culture but through the use of proper hermeneutics we can easily gain the meaning the original writers were trying to convey 99.9% of the time. The reason why google can't do it is simply because its taking an over simplified lexical approach.

perhaps you're right, i haven't done enough research to say you aren't. regardless, the bible has too many contradictions within itself to be held in high regard in my mind. the first case that comes to mind is the three different references to cutting one's hair. in one passage it states that cutting your hair is bad, another says it's favorable, and another says most do and that's a-okay. of course there are deeper ones, but that's the first i thought of.

@thedudeiscj Hey there. I just came across your comment earlier. The bible.. is not entirely written in the first century. Its actually.. comprised from letters written over at least before 100 B.C. And the old Testament was written in letters (that is back in that time.. And it wasn't combined yet..) The 1st century ones are the New Testament. :)

About... "new christians" dissing about Church. It could be that they are dissing about their focus on laws and not on Jesus Christ? Not too sure..
