Without Joy Division the british indie-rock would not sound as it does today (of course it does sounds way better than the american stuff thought). Our singer can not do Kalkony with the same effect, so we don't do it. Would rather not butcher music we respect, that is called artistic integrity.

I think you guys are being a bit harsh. Very rarely is the cover version of any song anywhere near as good as the original. "Love Will Tear Us Apart" has been one of my favorite songs since I was little, and while this cover is not as good as the original, this isn't a bad cover. It's definitely a gazillion times better than any cover Jessica Simpson ever did.

I think its been ran into the ground that FOB isn't has good as Joy Division.
Some bands, regardless of 'shittyness' have been influenced by bands like Joy Division, The Clash, Sex Pistols etc etc.
I think its good that bands are going back to cover songs that people my age wouldn't bother listening to.

i listened out of curiosity, and personaly, i think they didnt do the origonal justice at all.
it just sounds like a fall out boy song with ian's lyrics.
i'm not saying FOB are not talented, they just don't deserve the praise they recieve, when there are hundreds other bands out there (some long before FOB ever picked up guitars)
with the exact same crappy sound.
while Joy Division were doing something groundbreaking, and important, FOB only cares about selling records.

I really sad to hear a fucking boy band cover the greatest song ever made. If he hadn't alredy done it, Ian Curtis would probably hang himself after hearing this. FoB are just a bunch of pretty faces wiht no musical talent and their fanbase is entirely made up by teeny bopper girls. Joy Division is one of the best and most important bands ever and have inspired millions of peole, FOB on the outher han is just a bunch of record label whores and no one will remember them 10 yeas from now.

I play in a ska band. While we consider ourselves to be relatively good (hey, we keep getting asked to come back to clubs we play), we do NOT cover Streetlight Manifesto. Our singer can not do Kalkony with the same effect, so we don't do it. Would rather not butcher music we respect, that is called artistic integrity.

I think you guys are being a bit harsh. Very rarely is the cover version of any song anywhere near as good as the original. "Love Will Tear Us Apart" has been one of my favorite songs since I was little, and while this cover is not as good as the original, this isn't a bad cover. It's definitely a gazillion times better than any cover Jessica Simpson ever did.
Basically, if you don't like it, don't listen to it.
