And just think our tax dollars go to anti-drug commercials that make pot users seem like heroin addicts. Millions of dollars are spent on ads that blatantly lie about the effects of a plant, while alcohol ads run rampant.
First off Ron Paul doesn't endorse drug use nor is he planning to legalize drugs. He's basically letting the states choose those laws and keeping the federal law out of it. Which means its possible for the state you live in to legalize a drug such as marijuana (which is most likely to be legalized, not cocaine or heroin) but with restrictions similar to alcohol such as the initiative passed in Denver, Colorado.
Aye, aye. All so true. Making a criminal out of someone who just wanted an alternative to getting 'sloshed'. Seems, oh, what's that word... Hypocritical.
Nice video...Ron Paul has my vote for sure. I just hope that if he is elected that he will end this drug war. I'm tired of being scared of the government, aren't they there to protect me?!?!
He's already said he would end the War on Drugs, he's been saying that since his run in '88. He's convinced that drug issues are a state and local issue, and personal responsiblity needs to be preached instead of living in fear of smoking a joint. Also, as a doctor, he understands how much this War on Drugs affects our healthcare and such.
The legalization of marijuana is a sticky issue. (pardon the pun) The Emperor Wears No Clothes is available online for download - about the history of hemp and marijuana's benefits. Nobody sensible wants a numbed and dumbed down society, but TV is already doing that. THC at least can stimulate the creative imagination. Anything done to excess can have a reverse effect. Take alcohol - A little wine does the stomach a favor. A lot of wine perverts judgement.
Glad to see rational thought on the subject. And I do agree, people need to learn about the Golden Mean, or the Aurea Mediocritas. It was a philosophy that went by "everything in moderation". When applied to personal life, it was very useful. If people applied to it nowadays, drug abuse and alchohol abuse wouldn't be such a problem, neither would obesity from eating fast foods and such. Too bad right now Media says excess is where it's at, and that to be somebody, you need ALOT of stuff.
The first primary vote is coming up. You can vote, no matter where you live, and the media will cover the result. The 'primary' is the quarterly report on the financial status of the various campaigns. Vote now -- DONATE! Put it on your credit card, borrow it from friends, max out your donation now! The more money he has, the faster it has grown, the more legitimate his campaign will look. Who knows, we might get him into the top 3 or 4? But not unless you DONATE now.
i voted for dr paul in 88 cuz i was a pot-head,now im 39 havent had a joint in years,i drink almost a case of beer EVERYDAY cuz its CONVENIENT.i do wish pot was legal but that is not even in the top ten reasons why i support RON PAUL
I don't consider it top ten material, but I do consider it an important factor. It's hypocritical that the Federal Government can ban marijuana but not alcohol, when it's not even their constitutional right to have a say in the matter.
Democracy is dead, the will of the people is ignored. Ron Paul is the jump start to a new government which is there to PROTECT our privacy not to INVADE it.
Agreed. Our government has been taken over by a bunch of socialists and neo-cons. We need to get back to the place where the government was here to protect our rights, not slowly rot them away.
This is not my main reason for supporting Dr. Ron Paul though. My main reason is that Ron Paul advocates following the Constitution and not abusing the power of the government. He's truly a candidate "for the people, by the people". I hope others will soon realize this. Peace be with you all.
FYI. I do not advocate the smoking of marijuana for any juveniles. I waited till I was out of the house, on my own, and 18 years old before I started smoking for relaxation. I'm not a drinker at all. It tends to make people too emotional for my likings. I don't advocate the use of any other drugs either. Nor do I advocate that Ron Paul smokes, but if he did, I'd like to share a blunt with the man.
