  • i imported a midi file in to cubase 5 and did some editing.but when i expoted it to a new midi file all the instruments have changed to piano. please tell me where i have gone wrong..

your tutorials are great and i learned a lot from them ... thanx...,

  • when i minimised battery i couldnt find it again any where can someone help me and tell me how i can open up the vst again ... very annoying ! thanks .

  • ...you Swedish?

  • I have Cubase 6, and I don't have battery 3 on mine. How do I get it?

  • @xUnrealTx Id say a lot of producers would disagree with that. takes a lot of skill to create an interesting drum loop

  • @SonicAcademy agreed

  • @djmos1111 it actually took me a whole day to make a good hardstyle kick using drumazon. starting with the 909 then playing with decay, an distation eq, can take alot of time to create the sound you want

  • @xUnrealTx who wants to be original?

  • @xUnrealTx hahaha you obviously have no idea what your talking about, most bands and all electronic music use synthetic drums, and even the bands that record their drums 99% of the time resample them, so you are very wrong.

  • @xUnrealTx playing drums in real life is easier and takes less skill than programming them in. i been playing actual drum sets and using beat machines for 14 years. engineering a sound is harder.

  • @xUnrealTx all good if you have room and money, true what you say but only for those with the situation that allows so.

  • @xUnrealTx Miracleofsound uses Cubase drums in every song he writes

  • How did you get DMPB Cubase Samples?

  • more complicated than fruity loops...

  • is there no way to do this in Cubase LE5?

  • thanks, helped me a lot .

  • OMG How did you get that lo-fi sound in the beginning at 0:07?!?!?!

  • I have to select the "erase" tool to erase a note in the key editor. In FL, all I have to do is right click and it's gone. I shouldn't have to pay 3-times more for a piece of software that slows me down at every turn. Cubase is sleek and sexy and sounds great. But it's a pain in the ass to use.

  • @flyingsoundmachine Try Cubase 6 mate. SX Is a very old version of Cubase. 6 Has many improved features for workflow. By the way, you don't have to select the erase tool, just highlight what you want to get rid of and press delete.

  • @DepthRecordingsUK Just press delete? I have to actually take my hand off the mouse and use my keyboard?! All I have to do in FL is right click! Wouldn't you rather just right click? That's so much easier! Do you know what happens in Cubase when I right click on a note in the key editor? Nothing! What a waste of functionality!

  • @flyingsoundmachine I guess it's a case of each to their own. If a DAW works for you then why stop using it and use something else. Neithers better than the other. It all depends on how you like to work i guess. Ill try out the wave editor.

  • @DepthRecordingsUK Yeah, Edison is an awesome program. The loop tuner saves me SOOOO much time getting that nasty click out of my sounds. I can also stretch and blur samples and probably a whole lot of other stuff I haven't learned yet. I think it's a slave to FL though, so you'd have to use the program.

  • @flyingsoundmachine If I wanna take cut up a drum break and resample it in Cubase it literally takes me less than a minute with the click of a few buttons. If i wanna do that in FL I don't even know where to start. Infact, can you even do it?

  • @DepthRecordingsUK theres a vst called "fruity slicer" if I remember correctly and you literally just open that and drag the sample in and it cuts it up for you

  • @DepthRecordingsUK Yep, sure can. I drop it into Edison wave editor, cut out the piece I want and drag it into a sampler or drop into the playlist editor as an audio clip. I usually design my own drum sounds out of several other sounds. I also do that in Edison. Funny, I feel the same way about Cubase. I don't even Know where to start. There's such a learning curve. But mostly I hate the key editor. In my opinion, it's not as intuitive as FL's piano roll.

  • No doubt, Cubase is a far superior piece of equipment than something like FL. However, I could design a beat far more sophisticated than this in half the time using FL. It just takes so long to do the simplest things in these other DAWs. When are they going to make a DAW with a 64-bit floating point audio engine that also has the simplicity of FL's GUI?

  • @flyingsoundmachine so true man. I've used FL for 2 years and decided to buy Cubase to "get real" but I completely agree everything is so over-complicated for no reason.

  • @idreamtofflight It's really not complicated. Just got to learn how to use it properly mate.

  • @DepthRecordingsUK of course, just annoyed that I'm not getting it right away haha, even though it's understandable for someone to not be able to use a DAW super well after a week of using it

  • @idreamtofflight I thought the same when I used FL after using Cubase for years.

  • Those tutorials are awesome,,man,,thanks for your time,,appreciated.

  • I really need help! When i have Cubase open, i cant hear what people say on videos! No sound is coming!:O

  • worst daw ever

  • @Alu142 Oh you must be a FL studio user?LOOOOOOOOOL

  • @zipproductionz fl is a better porgram. its not a toy. cubase is overrated as fuck its just stupid. ok please tell me how to easliy program your own drum samples? cubase is better for recording but its totaly pathetic compared to fl with programing ffs..

  • @Alu142 How can you prove those facts when you havent even tried Cubase! I own both FL studio and Cubase. FL is NOT a better program, the reason that im calling it a toy is because it is as easy as turning on a television.

  • @zipproductionz yes exacly! is that a bad thing? thats exacly how its supposed to be - with fl you can do everything the same but 10000 easzier.. like i said cubase i slightly better for recording but.. for eg. programming drums. im litterally asking you to telll me as good way to porgram drums is cubasse as it is on sequencer in fl studio. you just drag the files from browser in 1 second. and im looking for some drumpad/sampler to do it as easly in cubase. any ideas?effects,automation...fl wins

  • @zipproductionz and i have tried it. im using it everyday at college..nmy teachers think its ovverrated too...

  • @Alu142 Dude, you dont know what you are talking about.. There is a reason for that FL studio cost 119 USD, while Cubase costs 449 USD.

  • @zipproductionz fucking tell me why cause ytour counding ridicolous

  • @Alu142 Excuse me, but i did not understand a single word of what you just said.

  • @zipproductionz i said then tell me why cubase is better cause you sound ridicolous

  • @Alu142 Because Cubase is WAY more sophisticated then Fruity Loops...Fruity Loops only positive side is that it is very user friendly..

  • @zipproductionz FOR FUCK SAKE ive heard that bilion times but not anyone ever give some fuckign examples. isnt being user friendly the msot important thing then you can do the same in both programms just in cubase it takes you 100000 times longer?

  • @Alu142 Relax, and i might answer.;)

  • @zipproductionz go on then

  • @Alu142 Cubase has much more possibilities in their samples. Each Sample has 12 bars of mixers and EQers and much much more.

  • @Alu142 The difference is:

    Professional artists use Cubase

Retards make stupid shit in Fruity Loops

  • @ColorfulDicks

Cubase and FL studio are both sequencers, they have nothing to do with the music overall quality. The audio quality comes from your ability to mix sounds and the quality of your VST plugins.

  • @ColorfulDicks you still using fruity loops?

  • @crabbcrabb Uhh, no?

  • wh<t is wrong with the people making proffecional tutorials?

  • Hey, I have got Battery 3, but I haven't that sounds like you (kicks, snares). They sounds comletely different.

  • thanks dude great tutorial

  • thanks heaps. this got me started. Massive help.

  • How do you get Battery? My version doesn't have it....

  • too complicated.

  • I still think FL studio is better. For midi it rules, way less complicated than Cubase. However I am just getting into the audio part of Cubase to see if its better than FL studio, which I am hoping it is as FL Studio sucks for audio editing

  • lol the funny thing is that I actually went through producing in that order.

at first I used audacity, then FL studio for a really short time, then Reason (I still use it) now I'm using Cubase on the side.

  • I'd like to know how cubase is getting away with requiring a purchaser to use a internet connection to register their products in the USA. According to the consumer protection division it is consumer fraud to sell a product that leads to purchasing another product in order to get it to work. Internet connections are also be considered a product as well not just a service. Cubase is so concerned with piracy what about the safety of un copyrighted works on hard drives being connected via internet?

  • @YouTubbingGeorge What about needing to own a computer?

  • @YouTubbingGeorge whats the problem? unless you're pirating it it shouldn't really make a difference. realistically nobody is going to steal your work and considering you are writing on youtube it's fair to assume you have an internet connection.

  • @themog90 And that is the problem assuming I have a connection which where the computer in at the studio does NOT have a connection. Bottom line in the US consumer law forbids selling an item leading to another item in order to get it to work. So maybe the Consumer Protection Division and the law has a problem I guess?

  • The Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act is meant to stop companies from upselling their own products and is not applicable here. There are plenty of precedents around the software world, including Microsoft Windows and hundreds of games.

  • @pacific202 And that's exactly what they are doing when they sell you a program and then turn around and require you to purchase a key in order to get it to work.

  • I would probably stick with FL, because its simpler, and it isnt a pain in the ass to make a quick beat, lmao

  • nice beat !

  • a very common question. FL studio or Cubase?

  • is cubase only for mac?

  • @SqueeG19 No.

  • @SqueeG19 no

  • @SqueeG19

    no

  • FL Studio XXL Prodecer Edition Is Better

  • Or maybe he's one of those few people who genetically cannot roll their R's.

  • I this guy from a part of Scotland called New Delhi?

  • @IsoMorphix nah man thats an irish ulster accent! :D

  • @marorococa I consider myself an accent enthusiast, but I find this one a bit mindblowing.

It doesn't even sound like there are consistent vowel sounds... almost like he's just making them up as he goes. -_-

  • @IsoMorphix yeah its not a very heavy elster accent anyways! im irish and even i was kinda cunfused for the first few seconds! :P

  • so you can use other software sound packages on cubase ? nice :)

  • I dont have battery 3 please help ??

  • a new DAW has finally arived. its name is CYBER SEQUENCER.

  • sorry mate but battry wont show up in my cubase? ive cubase 5

  • Hey nice video. I've always wondered, how do you create your own sets on cubase? Like an instrument loaded with select drum sounds. And how do you edit individual sounds? i.e. Distort a bassdrum but not the rest of the VST?

  • where do you get battery 3?

  • lol........fl stupido is NOT better than cubase, crackhead.

  • CHECK OUT MY NEW HARD ROCK SONG MADE IN CUBASE 5!!!

    /watch?v=95eI-9-Qrc4

  • Wow, this vid helped me SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!!!!!!!

I have absolutely ZERO experience working with studio programs and the like, but now I feel MUCH, MUCH, MUCHX100000 more comfortable using a software like this for MIDI Sequencing (i.e. sticking in notes on a preset, which is the only thing I know how to do)

I've successfully created a 2 bar sample with instruments by applying this demonstration. (though it took me almost 2 hours ||oTL) STILL, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • what´s better ? fl studio or cubase ???? pls help

  • @Ayza212 fl is better but its still just a toy, Ableton is more professional

  • @Ayza212 neither, it solely depends on the producer pick one and learn how to use it they all the same these days anyway

  • You from Northern Ireland?

  • @ProdigyChild2014 well then get ableton :))

  • yes..fl is much more easier than cubase..

  • what is the VST. Thanks

  • im like a pro in fl studio but wen it comes to cubase im totally100%%%% zero

cant even load drum sample on agent groove/beat designer its all empty, grrrrrr it sux

  • @MrJevio i'm considering switching from fl studio 9 too :) is it really that hard?...

  • freakin snoozefest mate

  • ok that sounded pretty good. but one of our closed high hats is a wee bit too lard :P

  • this looks like a really boring program to use, or is it just this guys representation???

  • Is there a way to use off line processing being able to retain all the SAME settings I have in my FX on the inserts? Some plugins like guitar rig 4 have alot of parameters,to have to match all that again to use offline processing makes no sense.

  • please please someone help me...can i play my guitar using cubase as an amp? i have cubase 5x, i dont understand it..my main big plastic thing of the computer(pc) has a jack on thre front with joe deek knobs on the front of it, when i strum my guitar led lights flash in response to the guitar...i know no more ..please help me pc geeks!!!

  • Can somebody send me link to download Cubase ??? please i would appreciate that :)

  • i imported a midi file and there is no sound for the drums. how do i fix this>?

  • there are about 7 easier ways to add drums to cubase...

  • Go Make Rap Beats Online.

    Go to the website above...

  • can you make triplets?

  • CUBASE 5 is legit, but drums are still questionable..... Thank you Steinberg for Variaudio, but we need a drums fix. Battery is a pain to get setup

  • i still think ableton is better!!

  • Yeah this blows

  • Dude! Thanks so much for making this!

  • Are these samples still available to download of sonicacademy and are they free?

  • @spencyyy

    lol

Northern Ireland. Nothing weird about it. Except how you yourself are perceiving it.

  • way u dont use agent grove one??

  • @darbits2009 This course is nearly 3 years old... it was done in Cubse sx 3 - Check our web site or our youtube channel for loads more current stuff

  • @SonicAcademy ahh ok man!!

  • check this song, it was made with cubase 5 !! Daniele Naxos Sunset

  • Hello. can you tell me what version of Cubase is the video? Waiting for a message, thanks.

  • once cubase is hoopend

  • @r34ct lmao

  • this isn't cubase 5..

  • Looks easy, Im so buying this prorgam.

Fl Studio is TOO easy to use xD

  • @noecortexX5

And you can still produce good music with FL and release it on every label available... It's the thing how are you used to work within your DAW not the program itself.

  • @TechTrekTrance Yeah A great program for remixes. Ive been using Fl for over 3 years now and I wanted to try something new, cause Cubase looks great :D

  • Where can I get those drum sounds? I got battery 3 and I have connected it to Cubase 5 but can I get some FREE drum sounds like those in the vid?

  • heeehh?????? dis shit is fuckin hard

  • "Cjubaisse" kept watching only because of the accent.

  • Can someone please give me a link to get Cubase 5 free! :(

  • i don't have batery 3 i don't have sounds downloaded from sonic academy. Can i make a drum beat? please help me.

Just wanted to point that out, all right thanks.

  • where does ableton fit into this discussion?

  • i think i need fl sudio lol..

    high school ftw :)

  • que BEESE

  • I've used reason And Fl studio Fl studio is a begginers guide to producing essentially. Once you've mastered fl studio (Which i feel I pimped it and made it my whore) it's to time to move up to something with more capabilities while taking your knowledge from fl studio and being more advanced witht he new software.

  • i havent got battery 3 lol

  • @yesitsvetz

I do for mac, mail me if you need.

  • @thaman667 nah its safe man, i got it for windows, but for all the people who dont have a clue what vst it was seach...

    native instruments battery

if you seach on google you'll find the download link easy, be a legend & thumb this up so people like me who took like a hour to find it will be able to find it in 5 seconds, thanks man

  • @yesitsvetz Dowload DrumCore 3. It is free

  • @jayleon07 i got battery now

  • @yesitsvetz just about any producer who loves producing shoudl get native instruments Komplete :)

  • i been using fl for last couple of years & is so buggy when handling vsts so now i decide its time to change, was good fun to start with but i would advise moving on at some point once you got the hang of it... & reason is just as simple as FL for me but it cant use vsts so left it behind

  • cubase for me is big crap. Best for me is FL (fruity loop) most important and easy to use... So if u want to start, choose FL . Best choice..begginners and profs :)

  • is there any easier program to use...?

  • @TheGreenLeaf92 FL Studio, i use it to make the more simple songs

  • @echinopis Yeah, got FL studio... can only do drum beat with it tho... prolly just me who dont understand it... want to be able to do real songs (no techno...)

  • @TheGreenLeaf92 Search for some tutorials of the genre u want to make :)

  • @echinopis ty mate : )

  • that beat at 4:49 reminded me of daft punks derezzed :D

  • @Haaganamus DEEREZZZEDD WHOOOOO!

  • Interesting ! so how to draw the appropriate rhythm in drums pattern ! for any song ?

  • any1 know where i can download cubase 5 free?

  • we want to renaem this

  • on the devices drop down menu there is no option of 'VST instruments' for me, im running cubase 4 and all i can choose is 'VST connections' and 'VST performance', can anyone help?

  • @dvm069 don't know..

  • HAS REASON AND LOGIC GOT THE SAME INTERFACE AS CUBASE? IF SO IT SUX FL STUDIO HAS THE EASIEST INTERFACE

  • @hoodzNglovez it isnt about easyness, if it was that easy every dumbass could make music.. if you spend a few hour learning its much prettier then the sucky fruity loops

  • @Nakkie040 dude with the amount of time u spend in cubase making a drum pattern u can make a whole beat in fl studio... what im saying is if u need to go through alot of steps just to make a drum line then fuck that.. i seen this tutorial other day this guy made a simple drum pattern in 9 mins!! and fl studio isnt shit if u got good vsts and sound library ur all good to go and easy and when i say easy i mean friendly interface

  • @hoodzNglovez well i dont know for cubase cause im just checking some tuts for the whole set up of the program but am using reason for a while now and its not unfriendly, it just takes some time to understand it and thats probably the same with cubase, when i started reason it took me half an hour to create a nice beat now it takes me 2 min i dont see why that should be different with cubase

  • i cant make it goin like yours there is a huge separation inbetween samples so it sounds like shit ! How do you make it sound the way you want it?

  • This is waaaay better than FL ... and tnx for the tutorial great job man!

  • @00Mass00 its the same as FL almost.

  • @00Mass00 lol its tha same bro

  • @00Mass00 This is SO much worse than FL Studio :O

the graphics are horrible and it has completely lost me.

Very 1980's style look and workspace.

  • @bnwfan689

its a muisc program....nobody buys it for graphics
