    I feel free to answer for "Mattemarines" as he hasn't been her for a while;

  • man thats awesome, im about to drop a chevy 350 in my '83 242. i love the body style of the ones on this video tho. so good lookin! which one of those was yours? and what motors were in those?

  • @mxslotkin

Thanks for the input on the video.

    The green one is mine.

It was a 1975 244L wich was the cheapest one in volvo 240 series that year.

From the factory it had a 2L 4cyl (B20) with a 4 gear manual transmission.

When i rebuilt it i took out the engine, transmission and the driveshaft.

I replaced it with a chevy 355 (5.8L), Muncie manual transmission and a solid own designed driveshaft.

I dynoed it when i was finished and pulled 344rwp.

  • @Mattemarines hey buddy, if you happened to have some pics of the car, anything, motor, underside, exhaust, that would be much appreciated! let me know and i will send you my email. did you use a standard fan or did you have to go with an electric one?

  • The engine was a 355 chevy smallblock.

Look at my other video and you will get an idea about how i did it..

  • @anttecool

I´m sorry but the car is sold some years ago.

  • These don't look like 240's I have ever seen before. They look amazing!

  • @guckmal123456 its one of the first volvo 240 i think. from the 70's. :D

  • i can't stand it until i got money so i can go and collect my motor :ÖD

  • i have a 83 244 and am wanting to do a chevy swap. what could the stock rearend handle in these heavy cars?

  • You'll snap stock axles at around 300ft-lb of torque.

  • Hey

im my old man s we have just a stock 1 with a 5ltr 115 ml throttle body

  • @jasonbc69

It is used to pick the rear axle from turbo or 260 model (with V6 engine) aswell as the front suspension with breaks, it can handle a small block V8 if you´re not combine to much tuning/power and big rear wheels/tires.

Some people are racing with 400-500 hp with those parts.

  • i have a 242 red, lowered ipd sway bars, lowered, built 289, somethin around like 325 hp, lookin for a supercharger!

  • Hey

We have a 5ltr v8 holden out of a vp but we cant fit a throttle body supercharger on if thats what your lookin for

  • FAN VAD NICE!! Gottans fint fortsätt så här

  • Sleeper ;)

  • Gleder meg til jeg får min Volvo 1981 i gang. litt mindre motor da, har en Chevy 305 og Th375 girkasse, men har lyst på manuell kasse.

No Turbo Shit, just real power

  • I used a chevy 355 smallblock with a Muncie M21 manual gearbox.

    344rwhp

  • Was it hard to get the engine to match with the car? I have a 740 sedan with an I4 engine, the car is so big and boxy I think a lot of people unfamiliar with Volvos assume it has at least a V6.

  • I didn´t use the the regular fasteners that you can buy as kits. instead i used a plate in the front of the engine and fastened it in the frame of the car. By doing so i got the advantage of getting the engine excactly so low and back in car as possible.

The 740 leaves even more space so it is possible to get a big block in that car.

    But is it hard??..

Everything is quite hard to do but it just takes time and work to do it.

  • Is yours the white one?

  • The green one was mine

  • What type of engines do you have in those cars? dodge? chevy? ford?

  • They sound like Chevrolets

  • Flott bygget :D:D:D

Må gjøre det igjen, holde liv i Volvo :D

  • Jag saknar den bilen..
