I watched this movie over in the Van Nuys Drive-In Movie Theater off Rosco Blvd. back in the late 1970s with my Mother in her car and it was a good movie for a drive-in night theater. @Theshofumiah1 There’re Dobermanns bred large. Some are 33in at the withers and 135lb. Check out the dogs at Brittion Farms Dobermans (kennel in Texas). But Britton Farms Dobies are show bred, and so they don’t have the most drive a Dobie has. And they’re too large to work properly. Dobermanns such as Fedor del Nasi, Texas von Karpatia, and Baron Nike Renewal have great builds for working. Dobies from Ellendonk, Mooreiche, Doberwache, Weyermühle, etc. bloodlines have great working temperaments.

To me, the Cane Corse looks somewhat like a Boxer with more muscle and loose skin.

there are all types of dogs for many different things. how will i make a beagle a guard dog? how can i make a doberman a hunting dog? but most of all it comes down to how you raise your dog. dobermans can be good with kids but know that at anygiven point they can turn and attack a child. I remember this movie back in the 70's. lol I was just a little girl. My sisters and I would sit in front of the t.v. watching this movie with our 3 dobemanns. My mother bred dobermanns and although protective, they were very loveable and always were gentle with us. My mother bred the black/tan, red/tan, blue/tan and the fawns. The really are beautiful dogs that got a bad rap for those that designed the dog to do to begin with.
This is the best movie! I don't care that it portrayed the doberman as a vicious animal, you can clearly see the intellegence, loyalty, and beauty of these dogs in this movie. They did what they were trained to do, which in anycase, proves that Dobermans are very smart.
Screw Google. Dobermans are the sweetest, smart dogs, but are protective only protective when they should be. The American lines have great temperments.. Funny how small breeds actually attack way more than large breeds, but you don't see silly, useless stats on that.

Dobermans are great guard dogs for their alertness, intelligence and loyalty. They can be agressive dogs WHEN PROVOKED. The typical pet Doberman ATTACKS ONLY IF it believes that it, its property, or its family are in danger.
This is an awesome movie. I like the names of the dobies, Ma Barker, Dilinger,Bonnie, Clyde, Baby Face nelson and Pretty Boy Flyod, but they forgot Capone.

We have a Pit Bull, a Pomeranian and we just adopted a Doberman a few days ago. We take our dogs for walks and people look at us like we're crazy. They have no idea that the Pomeranian is the alpha dog of the house. :) She bosses the other two around. She's 8lbs of fluffy terror, and the other two are totally laid back and love to snuggle.

I remember this movie back in the 70's. lol I was just a little girl. My sisters and I would sit in front of the t.v. watching this movie with our 3 dobemanns. My mother bred dobermanns and although protective, they were very loveable and always were gentle with us. My mother bred the black/tan, red/tan, blue/tan and the fawns. The really are beautiful dogs that got a bad rap for those that designed the dog to do to begin with.

This is the best movie! I don't care that it portrayed the doberman as a vicious animal, you can clearly see the intellegence, loyalty, and beauty of these dogs in this movie. They did what they were trained to do, which in anycase, proves that Dobermans are very smart.

My 3 year old cousin got her face ripped off by a chocolate lab. *gasp* yes, a LAB. America's #1 FAMILY DOG.

Screw Google. Dobermans are the sweetest, smart dogs, but are protective only protective when they should be. The American lines have great temperments.. Funny how small breeds actually attack way more than large breeds, but you don't see silly, useless stats on that.

@Grooovetrain very true small dogs can be the biggest assholes with terrible tempermants. my brother's GSD is the sweetest kindest dog and my mom's terrier has bitten me and my little sister on the face and we had it put down.

@Grooovetrain I grew up with a Doberman once, from the time I was 2 years old until I was 12 years old when my parents had to, put her too sleep. That dog was the best dog in the world!!!!!!

This is an awesome movie. I like the names of the dobies, Ma Barker, Dilinger,Bonnie, Clyde, Baby Face nelson and Pretty Boy Flyod, but they forgot Capone.

@pizzaman3210 Yea, I know, back in the 70's the Doberman was what today Pit bull are stereotyped as. Although I will say Dobermans are pretty tough, I love Dobies but I wouldnt mess with one who didn't like me. But as far as mines goes, he's a big baby who loves to cuddle and hog the sofa.

We have a Pit Bull, a Pomeranian and we just adopted a Doberman a few days ago. We take our dogs for walks and people look at us like we're crazy. They have no idea that the Pomeranian is the alpha dog of the house. :) She bosses the other two around. She's 8lbs of fluffy terror, and the other two are totally laid back and love to snuggle.
