DTNSU. think back to the spring of 99. Do you by any chance have a video of the Blue Shades Preformance? If you do, would you please put up the video :D thanx much
I wish I could see their Carmina Burana performance. That was absolutely GREAT! Extremely energitic. The performance was greatly enhaced by the NSU choir.
At one time that performance was on youtube...but it the guy who uploaded it was told to take it down. Not sure why...it was a public performance with no admission charged.
I cannot confirm or deny that...but I do know there is a Northwestern in Louisiana and Illinois, with the one in Illinois being the most well known and the one in Louisiana being 2nd...lol.
I was wrong. I looked it up. Northwestern State is indeed in Louisiana. I was thinking of Northwestern Oklahoma State. Most everyone knows Northwestern is in Illinois.
This is indeed outstanding! But why ( to the conductor) rush the ending in that way? Jeeez! Take it easy! This is the most climactic piece of music in all of classical music! What were you NOT thinking? Get a clue! And why would you have the brass be so timid? Otherwise, the song was really great! Great Job! The students' performances were amazing! Just Amazing! Great job NW! I'm really impressed! Simply amazing!!! Wow!
Outstanding , always those here though who probably would only qualify to stack the chairs after the concert leaving their comments. Forget about those nobodys...GREAT JOB
Iron out some of the early intonation issues and strengthen the brass section a little and quite a nice performance - gradual cresendo section could use a tweak also... Well done
I have to play the english horn part in this. Pretty scary.com actually.

One of the better performances of this piece I have heard. The bones nail it at 4:11...and all the brass kicks it for the remainder. Nice work.

No, sorry. I don't have that Wind Symphony performance. There are several videos/recordings from college that I wish I had.

@peacehopelovemusic I remember that...they also played Celebration by Paul Creston. Wish I had that...but alas, I do not.

This is definitely a video taken in Magale Recital Hall at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches (pronounced Nack-uh-tish), Louisiana.
