@Kashmir0109 LAter in 1966 they recorded Stroll On for Blow Up, with Jimmy Page and without PAul Samwell..... am i right??? Jimmy page didnt play in the train kept a rollin until 1968 in a live record, but anyone cares abaut live records, mmmmm that;s all, Firends??? and come on youre wrong man
@Kashmir0109 Well, The Train Kept a Rolin, this song, was recorded in 1965 in USA, so that will be impossible that jimmy page did record his guitar to this, the line of the train kept a rollin is Jeff beck, chris deja, paul samwell smith jim mccarty and keith relf, they recorded I'm a MAn and You're a better man than I (so you say jimmy page play guitar on that songs, and that jimmy page went to USA just to play on 1 song???)
@Kashmir0109 shit head!!! I've got like 5 Lp's where is thhat song, ok tell me something, do you know where did they record this song, the train kept a rollin??? whatever i think we could be friends once we resolve this fuckin problem
@Kashmir0109 you are an insult, Page played on S guitar in Stroll On ok??? but he dosent in Train kept a rollin, I;m so sure, soo don;t come here sayin you know about this because you don't, wannabe rocker
Page came on to play bass at Beck's suggestion after Paul Samwell-Smith left the Yardbirds to become a producer. Beck was, in the minds of many of us, the leading guitarist of the era, and the inspiration of most who came later.
Hey man...for the Blowup scene the Yardbirds did Stroll On wich is basically Train kept a rollin but with different lyrics, so the title for this video is kinda wrong. Its silly but...you know
great job, dude! I saw Yardbirds do this on Blow Up in 1966 when I was 16, I was already a Yardbirds fan and British Invasion in general, didn't know this song tho, it rocked my world, that is sure!
R-man...Whoa. It's 5A here, I just saw Blow Up for the first time ever (just ended), and I wondered if that was the Yardbirds in the movie. Had my guitar in hand whilst watching and started playing figuring out this song from memory. Had it 85% down and thought I'd come over to YouTube to get the last 15%. It's a parallel universe Deja-vu. (BTW - did you see Page playing bass on the '66 clip?) Good job on song.
Hey, thanks for the comment! Yea that is the Ybirds in the movie with Page and Beck on guitar, pretty odd but cool film! And yea I saw the 66 clip, it's great. Page started in the band on bass - apparently he would have played anything just so he could join and get out of the boring recording studio! Imagine that, "ok, today the bassist will be on guitar." Crowd: "Oh, crap..." - I don't think they were dissapointed :)
hey, not really. just find the chords on the internet, look at a yardbirds video to find out what version of the chord they play, and as for the solos just rock out
On occasion it comes on TV. You can probably get a copy off the internet through a trusted site. IMO, the movie has been dissected to much for e.g. University/College Film courses, the only good part is the club scene featuring the yardbirds...rest is about a photographer who sees a body in a photo hence the name "Blow Up".
You kick son....keep practicing...better than the Yardbirds solo...right in your room...no super acoustical stuff going on...kicking ass and taking names!

if someone is enough of a douche to put videos of themselves playing and try and impress people then the least they can do is expect people to bring them back down to earth and critique their playing. this was nothing special, a cheap gibson played through a cheap marshall because people want that "classic combo" without having to pay for the real deal. this is what you get, a really shitty fuzzy sound that only the owner could love.
the guitar was passed down to me from my father dating to around 1970, so i didnt buy it, and its not cheap. and the amp is a valve amp, 50 watt. any bigger, and I would probably break something. I have a 100 wat fender amp too but its at my uni. plus i dont think you can comment on the fuzz factor, its youtube so the quality isnt exactly abbey road, and if you want a clean sound then why on earth do you listen to the yardbirds / jimmy page?
Don't listen to him, personally I don't like the guitar but it's obviously not cheap, your fuzz actually sounds just like the late 60's sound as well as your playing 5/5.
not cheap, are you kidding? just because it has the gibson name on it its not cheap? you are a dumb motherfucker, you can pick up a gibson sonex 180 for like 300 dollars, and various other gibson market model failures like these for cheap like a blueshawk. and what band that was late 60's had fuzz that bland? some garagebands?
You clearly didn't read what he said, any guitar that old in that good of condition is alot of money. I'm not even gonna start on how much of an ass your making yourself.
no, please do. i'm glad there's a vintage guitar expert in the house who can see exactly how good a condition this guitar is in through this extremely high quality youtube video.
yea they don't make them anymore, they started around '75 and ended around 79, but mine is from around 1978. there was just not a big enough market for it to last. gibson had the big, chunky thing and fender had the light twangy thing. the s-1 was gibsons try at the lighter stuff (with the gibson punch) but unfortunately fender had the upper hand in that territory so they stopped production
