Paddy Kelly After living six years as a monk in the Community of Saint John, Paddy Kelly has recently left religious life. Arriving at the term of his temporal vows, he decided in accord with the responsible authorities of the Congregation that it were better to leave and will now be taking more time for the work with the music.
So this year hopefully, we will hear his new songs to fill our hearts.
Paddy did find God, but after completing his 6 years of temporal vows, a time he called the "most extraordinary time of my life" (something all kids dreaming about fame should listen!), and decided with the congregation that it was best to focus on his music to a degree that the vows weren't made for. That''s what you can read on the official website. So he will be singing more in 2011 and will remain Catholic, more devout than most of his fans. Don't hold it against him, open your heart. :)

It was about Bonnie Prince Charlie and his flight from 'whoever/whatever' I can't remember the title of the series but I'm sure you could google and after a few 'clicks' you should come up with something.

Well, you know, he had been singing all his life from an very early age when he could not make the decisions himself. As great of a singer that he is, maybe it wasn't what he intended to do with his life, and he has decided to something else, something that means more to him and will make him happy. It is a great loss, of course, but if that is what will make him happy, then we should be happy for him.
Why are you all talking like he died or something. I think he is a very happy monk. I've met him in real in my congregation when he was visiting the convent there. He is still singing but now only at mass etc. and as I said he seems very happy with his decision.

oh..this video is so sad! I can't understand Paddy... why did he give up his amazing career to become a monk?WHHYYY?!! A lot of people would be happy i they had such a great career and life!!He was (and is) so famous and everybody loves him...how could he do that?He's born for singing!..

Well, you know, he had been singing all his life from an very early age when he could not make the decisions himself. As great of a singer that he is, maybe it wasn't what he intended to do with his life, and he has decided to something else, something that means more to him and will make him happy. It is a great loss, of course, but if that is what will make him happy, then we should be happy for him.

Why are you all talking like he died or something. I think he is a very happy monk. I've met him in real in my congregation when he was visiting the convent there. He is still singing but now only at mass etc. and as I said he seems very happy with his decision.

@keglelaila Thats true, it kinda annoys me how people emotionally exaggerate about him quitting kelly family and getting own with his life the way he wants to.
HE IS NOT DEAD, he just chose his own path.

@keglelaila We miss the fact that not all of us have the chance to hear him still sing and that is a loss to us, but a gain to God obviously.
