We as humans need to protect our rainforests and the animals and people that live in them before the people, trees and animals are all gone. Cutting down the trees produces carbon dioxide, which contributes to global warming. We need to stop the companies that cut down the trees before it's too late.

Are you a moron, Greenblockhead? We as a spieces, depend on all other forms of life. We need the forests; they supply the world with oxygen, maintain carbon levels and provide food and homes for a diverse range of animals and indigenous peoples. We've got to consider farming the majority of our timber, because at this rate, we can't sustainably harvest wood from the forests. When it's all gone, what then?

Another thing that bothers me is the wealth in the plant life that is being destroyed, many rare plants could have cures to uncureable diseases right now. Scientists have only sampled 1% of all plant and flower life in rainforests, by destroying it without sampleing it first we could be missing out on the next cancer cure.

Try and understand that humans are just one part of the complicated web of life that has developed on Earth over millions of years. A thriving planet depends on this biodiversity - if we continue to decimate the animal and plant life at the present rate we will eventually make it uninhabitable for ourselves, too. Not a smart thing to do, really.

Look at easter iland in the pacific! What had happened? They got over populated, chopped down all trees, so they did'nt have any wood anymore to build ships to go fishing. If our population lives on a better diet of wheat, grain and eggs etc we wont need the land to produce food. It takes 10x the ammount of grain to produce meat on cattle farms and that could be going towards helping poverty and it would also help the enviroment because we would not need huge farms. And besides who are you to say that apes, birds and zeberas can die. They are a part of the planet they deserve to have part of the land.

You are right that it takes 10x more land to grow meat. But that means that you have only a little more time left. If the world's population is growing at the speed of the last few hundered years, (and it will not stop growing) in a few years from now we will have choped down the last rainforest no matter if all get vegetarian or not!

China has a 1 children program since 30 years. Despite that last 10 years the population grew 80 millions only in China, 180millions in India, pakistan .....

Wow! Amazing video. Greenpeace, as well as many other issues, and a teacher I've had have all inspired me into my environmentalism. As of now, I'll be a senior in high school this next coming school year, and so far my plan is to major in environmental science at Northland College, Ashland Wisconsin, in the United States.

What I love about this video is the change in perspective...putting the animal's perspectives into the humans.
