2. Sakurai said that this was only the third in the series, implying that there will be sequels.

In an interview, Masahiro Sakurai said this game, just like Melee is made as the last in it's series. I'd agree though. If they promised a 4th, they'd have to work way too hard to make it.

They have never stated that this will be the final instalment I see this series lasting a long time. As long as it is possible to add more characters create new maps and update the visuals this series could go on forever. but besides that nice video It looked very proffesional untill you called it the final installment.

Though I do recall Masahiro Sakurai saying that, with both this game and Melee, they made those games as if they were the last in the series, and that's probably why they turne dout so good.
