  • reloand lol

  • Why the fuck are people even talking about dubstep on a Metallica video?

  • If this is one of james's favourite songs, and its constantly gets views/ppl asking them to play it, why dont they?

i think its to personal, just something he loves, and doesnt want to play live, my guess anyway, one of my favourite songs.

  • reload*

  • Load and reloand are good albums, even st. anger is awesome. I dont know why ppl hate this albums. Maybe their are low minded metalheads. Sorry for bad english.

  • Fuck you valcono1 you fat fuck

  • METALLICA SUCKS ,,MEGADETH IS BETTER.

Now i have ur attention ...METALLLICA is the best band ever made..and i dont really like to listen to megadeth

  • Can you heal what father's done?

Or fix this hole in a mother's son?

  • this is absulutly amazing. james should be very proud of him self for writing this. its soo personal and feels soo good. especially at 7:35

  • truely sickens me that there is no video for this track with over 250k views.... for those of us watching this, we are the hardcore Metallica fans!

  • @WlSEGUY THATS RIGHT BRO THATS RIGHT!!!!

  • metallica can be proud on this song what a masterpiece

  • They need to play this live, one day. I'd pay full admission just to hear them do this song. It's one of their most unsung gems, a sleeper hit that goes too often unappreciated.

  • Would be so awesome if they play it in Denmark 6/6/12 when they come here :D

  • This is one of James' favorite songs

  • @rroybraves

Which is why it's so damn weird that they don't play it live. I could understand Escape as James doesn't like that song, but this, is a masterpiece

  • @twiztidlestat they don't play a lot of their Load reLoad songs live since the albums were perceived very low by Metallica fans who really weren't Metallica fans because if they were they would have supported the band no matter what they came out with. But a lot of the songs are really badass. Like The House That Jack Built. It's a song about Jack Daniels. That's awesome.

  • @rroybraves

I know, I was around my friend :) I'm 28. I remember the load/reload launch days, and how they were received, but now, among the fandom, the albums are applauded, I think St anger being so bad universally was a big help

  • So...I'm deaf now...

  • This is my shit! I love rolling while this song is playing.

  • LIVE, LIVE, LIVE!!! NEVER PLAY

  • I think, just my opinion, but people that knock on the newer albums are close-minded...And just wondering, isnt that the opposite of what rock is about?

  • @bubbanugg23 When was Metallica... "Rock"?...

    This ...is, uhh metal?

  • @tehstickguitar During Load and Reload. The albums are more blues-influenced hard rock. Still decent stuff.

  • @IrishGuitarist Blues influenced, yes with some common jazz elements. Rock? Maybe, still metal in my option. :)

  • this song rocks

  • If Metallica keep doing the same shit theyd already be forgotten and not the giants they are......

  • i think people trash these albums becasue it was a change in sound but in all actuality it was them growing from kids to adulthood

  • Please play it live!

  • I don't give a fuck what anyone says. I constantly find myself coming to Reload songs. This album goes hard as fuck. So what, they're not 18 year old kids and their fuckin music evolved a little. I like thrash too, but I fuckin love Reload

  • 18 people are stupid

  • One of those underrated songs that fits nicely there with Of Wolf and Man and King Nothing.

  • This song tells a part of my life and how my life is all fine until something bad happens

  • I am a hardcore fan and I definitely agree that Metallica's sound had changed at this time, however whether it's a good sound or not is up to you, and everyone's entitled to their own opinion. What I do know is that this album is the reason their sound is what it is today and without it, maybe they would't even still be be together, so keep that in mind.

  • OMG a masterpiece O_o

  • This song kicks ass. Metallica never sold out.

  • @slimshady0297

    now that's the spirit!

  • my bad that comment goes to pumishumi

  • to MegadethMagnetc what the fuck r u babaling about

  • its good to see that there are true met fans still

  • people obvioously have nothing better to do with their lives, than to get on internet and talk shit behind a screen, if anyone has a problem with one of these idiots, its best just to not say anything to egg them on and just let them selves make themselves look stupid... people like this will go over board cause they feel they are "protected" by the allmighty screen. i really do not understand these people, but you'll get it everywhere, so fuk em, ignore em, you frkn idiots

  • Fixxxer moves me

  • fuck dubstep!! anyone (with good speakers) hear that bass at 0:32? thats your god damn drop.

  • @kyussfan6 i wouldn't go out and say fuck dubstep (i'm a lover of all mediums of music... except that dastardly country) and i'd say the drop is around 1:08.

  • @evenged7x its well known around that time. its when the foundation of the song starts.

  • @kyussfan6 listenin to it through a 52w crate bass amp and i hear it loud and clear man!

  • @kyussfan6

If Metallica did dubstep they would rule anyway. The drop at 7:07 is better.

  • @eklerks ....NOW WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD METALLICA DO FREAKIN DUBSTEP COME ON MAN.....THIS IS METALLICA DUDE OPEN YOUR EYES

  • luv it

  • Comment removed

  • "we're just the toys in the hands of another"

  • I've never met a Megadeth fan on the winning side of Darwin...just saying :) Also, this song is SO fucking personal for me it hurts. Thumbs up to those whose parents fucked them up but are still rocking!

  • I Love this song! Reload was a fantastic album!

  • I'm glad to see i'm not the only one who things this is metallicas bast song. I love playing the bass riff.

  • This has been my favorite Metallica song for a looong time. Fuck it's good.

  • You've written Metallica with a small m :/

  • "to fall in love with life again"--one of Hetfield's best lyrics

  • Love Metallica, but this is STILL my favourite song.

  • @RawwrHardcore Just when all seems fine, and all pain free, jab another pin - jab another pin in me. Sounds a lot like life.

  • favorite metallica song right here, soo heavy

  • It makes no sense to me to argue over opinions -- which seems to be an epidemic in musical debate. It's within your right not to like (or to even hate) something. I know music invokes passions, but to try and create absolute truth from this is a disease of the ego.

  • @jasondelauro i agree. but, also, it's nothing to get worked up over. you can only get mad at someone's hate if you let them.

  • where the fuck is selling out songs, yeah 8 min song with not even a catchy chorous wont even get one 10000th of plays what enter sandman gets.

  • song is so witchcrafty....i still enjoy metallica's 83 - 03 stuff

  • fucking awsome! this is why i wear my Metallica t-shirts with pride :D

  • Metallica when its best!!!!!

  • Honestly, this song is better than Memory or Fuel (The songs claimed to be the best on this album).

  • to be honest - this is the top 3 metallica song

  • @phoks71 well its one of james's favourite song.

  • @phoks71 Thats right...

  • @phoks71 I can instantly think of at least 20 better metallica's songs than this one...

  • Also to clarify Fixxxer is about using religion to cope with our problems instead of drugs, alchohol, etc. You have to think about it but that is what it means.

  • Just to everyone that doesn't like the "new" Metallica, which is absurd, yes they cut their hair, but its still Metallica. James is still James, Kirk is still Kirk, Lars is still Lars, Rob is still Rob (wasn't part of this record). Point being is its still the same damn band. So calm that shit down. And they didn't "sell out". Damn people its not selling out if you lose your fans anyways.

  • bieber my balls bitches

  • The last in the trilogy/Soundtrack...for the West Memphis 3...

Time for them kids,er young men to live.

    NOW

  • My dog is named Fixer, lol.

  • @SengaRm Can I get your dog to my place and jam to some songs ?? PLEEEEEEASEEE !! :D

  • I like (or love) every single album Metallica has released.

I used to hate St. Anger but now I kinda like it.

  • @ThePhantomTerror ha ha I used to hate .. well dislike St. Anger but every now and then I think about that song and have to listen to it. It drives me crazy to deny myself Metallica!

  • Does the triple-x in the song title represent booze?

You know.. these XXX-signs on hillbilly-stereotyped moonshinebottles.

  • @sobbo1337 Quote: "Being from South Louisiana, I can help you out, here. The three x's are what you mark on the tomb of the late voodoo priestess Marie Laveaux if you want her to grant a wish from beyond the grave. She's buried in New Orleans, and people do it all the time. Hence, three x's for the stone. ... It's the graveyard deal. Read it in an interview during that era." --From metallicabb

Out of all the possibilities out there, this one makes the most sense in the context of the song.

  • @RoxieRedwood I see, thanks for the reply! Do you have any idea of where I can find the interview?

  • @sobbo1337 I was looking for the original interview myself...the closest thing that I can find is a quote from an interview in So What! from 1997. The interview was done by someone named Steffan Charazi. It was quoted on themetallicalounge. Basically, James went to the library and did some research. Given that Marie Laveaux is a very prominent figure in American voodoo, I'm 100% positive that he came across her myth at least once. I don't know if he actually says that, though!! >.<

  • @RoxieRedwood (continued) "...they wanna hear some cool words that fit together. So voodoo dolls and pins started to figure into it, y'know, people get jabbed by something everyday. When things are going right fuck, there's another pin in ya and nothing goes your way all the time. And that's just life my friend." James talking to Steffan Charazi So What! 1997"

That's the best I can do...I'm guessing that the interview is not in electronic but in paper form and on someone's shelf... :(

  • @RoxieRedwood

I think Steffan Charazi was (i dont know if he is still) admin on Metallica's official forum, his username is fixxxer.

I hang out on Metallica board 10 years ago and when i red "Steffan Charazi" i kinda remembered fixxxer guy from the board, I'm not 100% sure :)

  • @1205goran Good to know, thank ya. :) I'll have to see if I can dig a bit deeper...

  • @sobbo1337 "The song 'Fixxxer' was pretty sparse and some particularly evil tones in it. The word 'voodo' kept on coming up in my head, so I started looking up voodo shit a little more. Doing research doesn't necessarily help though, in the end you're gunna write whatever words come out and sound cool. It's not like all of a sudden you say "well I'm knowledgeable on the subject and I'm gunna let you know about it" People don't give a fuck, they don't wanna be educated by it, >>>

  • It's a shame that Load and Reload are so underrated because of their previous albums. They're solid albums but everyone feels the need to compare them to the likes of Puppets and Kill Em' All.

  • @battlep0t my brother just said to me "why do you listen to those Metallica songs? they're no Enter Sandman or Master Of Puppets." so just proving your point even more that these albums are underrated.

  • @battlep0t If these albums were made by some unknown rock band they would be considered classics. Fact.

  • @battlep0t yea I think it's stupid. I am a fan of the older albums and a big fan of load and reload also :D

  • @battlep0t Not me m8 im a true fan ...theres not a song or album of theirs that i dont like...They've helped me through some rough times without even knowing it ...Love and respect to them always \m/ ( >_< ) \m/

  • even if you don't like the album(s), (which, for the most part, I don't) how can you be hateful of a band you love just because they didn't want to run in a rut with their musical style? you can't expect someone not to change their mind about how they feel, and, in turn, change the music they play during their career, especially if it's as long a career as metallica's, unless you're either an ignoramus or a selfish prick. no offense, just my opinion.

  • Fixxxer is because they are referring to a voodoo practicer (hence xxx) as being a god. Its actually a metaphor. They are using "pins" to relate to tacks for our sins. (Hence "one for each of us, and our sins". Directly in relation to sin of Adam and Eve eating the apple in the Garden of Eden). So Father is suppose to be for God or Jesus. Not the first time they related to the Bible for lyircs...

  • Why is the song called Fixxxer?

  • Who is ''Father''? anyone with an idea????

  • love this song

  • So many fantastic fucking memories attached to Load/Reload. Stellar albums with a permanent personal significance for me.

  • After 14-15 years, I found Load and ReLoad masterpieces...differend style sure but true masterpieces !!! I wish soon Metallica to find their star again...if not I am glad for what they have done so far...

  • I see so many comments regarding old vs new Metallica, and one thing that all have in common? THEY"RE ALL FUCKING STUPID!!! All the people who bitch to each other like James sat behind them in 1st grade, stop it. You're not Metallica, and you are stupid for judging someone that isnt you.

I'd also like to say to any Bieber fans that got lost, look up "Baby" and you'll fing the music YOU like. You dont have to go out of your way to hate someone.

  • @pumishumi i agree...whats the shit with old vs new Metallica? last i checked it was the same band....Metallica makes music better than any other fucking Metal band i have ever heard in my life and to be honest- if you can't even like Metallica then you should not even be deemed a "metal fan" at all.

  • @pumishumi I love you. Your comment is so perfect, without getting too profane. I stopped commenting, for the most part, and just listen. But, I wanted to let you know how much I liked this. Thanks, again. Peace.

  • @pumishumi how old are you? 12?

  • @uzickimajmunac 16 actually. and you must be 10.

  • @pumishumi no, I am 1 years old. puberty metalheads....

  • @pumishumi Fucking legendary man, well said

  • @pumishumi EXACTLY!!!!!!! OH MY GOD THANK YOU!!!! IF YOU HATE THE MUSIC WHY LOOK IT UP JUST TO TALK ABOUT HATING IT!!!! GROW A FUCKING BRAIN!!!!!

  • @pumishumi Yeah guys," Before you judge me take a look at you." James in Holier than Thou!!! XD

  • Metallica is better than no Metallica. Trust me on that one.

  • @BeerSlayer863 you say that like you've been to some parallel dimension where there was no Metallica, lol. Regardless, i'll take your word for it, i love the Met and this song is a masterpiece.

  • *Lollapalooza interview 1996*

James Hetfield: " We don't give a fuck what people think... Why should we start now? "

  • @MegadethMagnetc love your name man!!! peace.

  • @COSANOSTRA910 THANKS!!!!!!!! :D i know i came up with it. its like a cool combo of Megadeth and Metallica (Death Magnetic) xD you should subscribe :)

  • Metallica still rules, I don't care what anybody says. No, not every song they've done is great but that's not uncommon. It's unreasonable to hate a great band just because their sound has evolved-whether you agree with the evolution or not. It's not like they did a cameo in a justin bieber song or went on tour with ICP.

  • @nervousystem79 I know right? Just because it's not speedy like Whiplash or Damage Inc. doesn't mean it's bad, Fuck the ones who don't understand.

  • Comment removed

  • they added funk to this song. which is pretty awesome!

  • the biggest gem off the loads. i see what some think this song is about. this song is really just about having a rough life full of just plain bad luck. sorry for those who....thought it had something to do with porn. remember xxx is also booze.

  • Load and Reload are the BEST!!!

  • Beginning riff sounds a lot like Jimi Hendrix

  • Fixxxer [*]

  • flawless!!! You guys like this or Outlaw more? To me, the music is just equally fucking the shit but I like the lyrics for this one a little more.

  • FUCKING SICK SONG!! extended version rocks!!

  • I won't deny that Load is a great album. Regarding Reload though, I felt that bad lyrics was what ruined the album. There are certain Reload songs with lyrics that annoy the hell out of me like "The Memory Remains" and "Carpe Diem, Baby". And "Slither" sounds like a freaking "Enter Sandman" rip off.

  • why fi "xxx" er ? This is not a porn video :P

  • @Knife40 lol I've always wondered that

  • @Knife40 Hey man this is about a soul fucked up by porn, which is only release. Peace out , but man, when metallica writes about me, fuck ur soul, a jab a pin, so the hole will remind u???

  • Metallica kicks ass no matter what style/genre they decide to play.....from thrash, to progressive metal, hard rock, and because of Mama Said, even country......love the diversity in this band. Metallica for fucking life!

  • this is my first metallica album i owned i thought it was good and i loved them ever since i just felt like sharing

  • @ww2production This is the first album I owned, but I had heard them before then.

  • kirk hammetts guitar sounds so good ... its hypnotizing on this album the most

  • boobs:)

  • @teenmetalfreak3 I agree

  • I first fell in love with Metallica by listening to this album. I loved it. Then I heard their older albums, and I loved them too. My point is, I love Metallica, no matter what they play and how they play it. MetallicA FOREVER!

  • Load and Reload are not alternative, they are heavy metal influenced by hard rock and blues rock.

  • Metallica's genre is Metallica and simply wtf they felt like making at the time. People need to stop trying to put a name on everything and just listen to the music.

    btw a very underrated song

  • one of the most underrated Metallica songs ever..

  • Im the only one who cry with this song ?? u.u

  • i have to say, i just listened to the death magnetic album on my surround sound PA system downstairs, fucking loud speakers everywhere, but i want to say to i like these songs when im in a certain mood for them, not just in general really, because i really do like All Nightmare Long but this song is actually kicks ass pretty hard!

  • Really good song!!!

  • wtf is that music in the start of the song=O?

  • But tell me can you heal what fathers done

Or fix this whole in a mothers son

Can you eal the broken worlds within

Can you strip away, so we may start again

Tell me can you heal what fathers done

Or cut this rope and let us run

Just when all seems fine and im pain free

    You jab another pin

    Jab another pin in me!!!

These are the lyrics that breaks anybody down everytime, including me.

  • I love METALLICA!!!!!

  • METALLICA RULES!!!

  • @ApocalyseDawnMusic thats why i buy every album and did a school project about them

  • i wasnt honestly a big fan of reload

except this, fuel, memory and devils dance are probably the only songs off the album that dont get boring quickly

  • Stick Another Pin in Me!

  • I still remember how widly Load & Reload were discredited by the press and other rock mentalists & mentors... But Metallica are still here at the top proving how diverse and inspired they can be. The press/magazines-dumbheads are a very good reason that hard rock & metal lost its popularity during the years.

  • metallica FTW!!!!!! And fixxer is epic.... it all is :P

  • ehh, who the hell am i kidding, this song is great!!

  • One of their best...truly an awesome song...

  • 13 people dont know what the hells good

  • this song is pure God-Mode.

  • stfu, a real fan shouldnt like songs just because the band made them, they should like them because they actually sound really kickass.. - and because the band made them :P

  • i can't hate a band for trying new things with their music. i don't necessarily have to like the new direction they go in, but i will always respect a band that tries to evolve their sound.

that being said, i fucking love this song

  • The first time I listened to Load, Reload and St. Anger I hated them. I listened to them lots of times and tried to love them. Now, I love Load and St. Anger but I can't love Reload! It is a really good album but except this song which I love I can't feel it!

  • numb myslef to sheild the pain but fuck that ill get fucked up to heal the pain, its an uphill battle noone said it was sane. metallica freestyle ahhh!

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing song. The bass kicks a....the guitars sound dark yet cool. Lyrics are aweome too. Lots og guitars effects. Reload if for mucis fans andnot for MetallicA Die hard fans.

  • @TheVicHardy or both*

  • @TheVicHardy Real metallica fans like and appreciate all of their stuff. So this is for Metallica die hard fans and music fans ONLY.

  • everyone needs to just stfu and stop arguing about how bad it is or how good it is. if youd ont like dont listen its not hard just enjoy it and stfu

  • I am the only person in the world that loves this song? 0_o

  • @SmieshNorway ur not alone:)

  • @SmieshNorway i feel the same

  • there is a huge chunk of good songs off of load and reload, just the bad songs overshadow the good.

  • This song in as few words as possible; COMPLETELY FUCKING AMAZING

  • I never understand the Load and ReLoad hate. I can sort of understand the hate on St. Anger, the tone was worse than Death Magnetic's (which is saying something in itself). ReLoad is a very good album musically and the songs are enjoyable to listen to.

  • Death Magnetic was a great album....a mix of everything they have done! And it was very good!
