Personally, I'll never understand in how any person can believe in a god. By all means, if you want to, I'm not stopping you and I won't interfere. Religion is in fact a control tool and it is VERY counter productive to the evolution of morality. Why do you think the KKK quote god? Why do you think anti-gay churches quote god? @bran1226 thought about it... still thinking about it actually. I've heard that the Qu'ran is pretty much a remixed bible in response to the bible to prove Christianity wrong. Overall, I look at the first civilizations and what they believed in. Civilizations that existed before many of today's religions. Not to say I won't consider Islam because I do believe it promotes many good moral behaviours. I'd just be a little sceptical about the "mystical" stuff. I'm too much of a realist.

@MAC616 never said I was Athiest ;)... and if your god is all about love how can you speak of hate towards non-believers? FYI... I didn't take time to study the bible for the specific reason of bashing it. A friend invited me to church, his church gave me a bible and basically cornered me in a room to "accept jesus into my heart" creeped me out how brainwashed these people seemed... I got home and read the bible like a book... start to finish and what I read stunned me.

Religion is in fact a control tool and it is VERY counter productive to the evolution of morality. Why do you think the KKK quote god? Why do you think anti-gay churches quote god? Why do you think women in many societies are suppressed, beat, raped and have no rights? Why do you think slavery existed and still exists today? Many of those things above are mentioned in the bible by god as being okay! You have to question... who REALLY wrote the bible?

@MAC616 B/S??? Read these pieces in the Bible... Leviticus 25:44 to 46 (Slavery/KKK justified)... Exodus 21:7 to 11 (selling sex slaves)... Deuteronomy 20:10 to 14 (I know it's war, but really? Rape female captives?)... Isaiah 13:15 to 18 (God orders rape and the death or women and their babies?)... Need I mentioned more? Because there is A LOT more! @lilangel292 I know that. Many religions speak the same stuff just in different books though. Today's religion disregards the beliefs of the first people that we know of to ever live on this planet or to at least record their existence. People that existed before these religions did. If you bought a red car new and 5 other owners each had it repainted and a 6th person wanted to buy it but wanted its original color. You and all 5 people give a different color. Who should this person believe most?

@SolidNintendo I believe there is A god but I don't believe the bible is what it is said to be. I don't believe this so called god wrote the bible. If we stuck to what this god wrote in the bible, we'd still be in the stone ages in terms of moral. Do you think stoning people to death for disobeying their parents is morally correct?

@world2point0 turn away from the Bible, and read the Qur'an. if you are black you should know that at least 35% of all African slaves that came to this country were in fact Muslims, and Christianity was forced upon them, Islam is as true as it gets when it comes to religion and what God wants and expects from us. study fully all points of view and beliefs before you right them all off.

@bran1226 thought about it... still thinking about it actually. I've heard that the Qu'ran is pretty much a remixed bible in response to the bible to prove Christianity wrong. Overall, I look at the first civilizations and what they believed in. Civilizations that existed before many of today's religions. Not to say I won't consider Islam because I do believe it promotes many good moral behaviours. I'd just be a little sceptical about the "mystical" stuff. I'm too much of a realist.
