It's not a Volvo engine , the engine is a Yamaha V8 but it's the same engine that you can find in the Volvo XC90. The one in the Noble has been tweaked a bit though...

To say this car has a Volvo V8 is so unfair,actually Yamaha designed the engine,and Noble use the engine block and bits of the head,and thats basically it,all the internals are changed,a full steel and hardened crank is used that costs nearly as much as the whole volvo engine,its like saying a full blown NASCAR uses a Ford F150 V8 pickup engine.Volvo toned it down to meet there requirements but actually the origional design was very perfomance orientated hence why Noble chose to use it.
