  • What an interesting cover of Paperback Writer!

  • "Feel the Benefit, parts 1, 2 and 3" off DECEPTIVE BENDS is the bomb. Best guitars leads and a solid nod to the Beatles

  • This is the first version (besides the beatles) that struck me, these guys are so cool:)

    sunaj

  • 10CC really ended creatively once once Lol & Kev left the band, there was the odd musical highlight but it was pretty much downhill after the How Dare You album.

  • Fantastic rythm in Paperback Writer!!! Best version.

  • Justin Timberlake,50 cent ... what a joke .... music has taken a giant leap into oblivion. These guys should look and learn from these masters of music!

  • That's I read, where the name came from, so what; they're fabulous.

  • 10cc is the aproxamate amount of ejaculate in an average discharge. (Thats what I read once),

  • Ever since Godley & Creme left the group the name should be 1cc instead of 10cc. They were responsible for 90% of the sound. After they left they couldn't find two musicians that had the same talent. Instead they hired 4 and they were still not even a shodow of what they were before.

  • great job boys

  • Great Stuff! Thanks for the collection. Much enjoyed.

  • George would have enjoyed this..:D

  • Is that Phil Collins on drums?

  • @SuperGogetem

    No, its probably Paul Burgess

  • @AnnieOakley53 Actually, I should have known better because I think Collins is left handed and sets up the kit the opposite way.

  • @AnnieOakley53

Nono, in this video, on drums it is definitely Stuart Tosh. Paul Burgess left the band, but returned after a few years. And is still playing with Graham Gouldman's 10CC.

  • my favourite Beatles song...

  • Was this the early 90s anyone know thanks?

  • @Forestamtul I've already replied to your first question; it was 1993

  • @AnnieOakley53 thanks for your reply sorry I asked twice. I didnt realise as I asked in another you tube clip.

  • 10cc is all 4 original members, Eric & Graham were great but the humour and adventure disappeared when Lol & Kev departed.

    How about a reunion boys???

  • A hommage to a great band by another great band.

  • You misspelt Universe

  • Across the Universe was good. Except for the guitar solo, Paperback Writer never got off the ground.

  • Another one of those great Beatle songs that never got its due. Nice cover...

  • lovely.....................

  • hancor

  • Boy I love this song ...so peaceful, better than some islamic nuisance minarets

  • or some pinoy church bells!

  • It would have been cooler, if 10cc would have changed singers between verses on "Paperback writer".

    Anyone agrees?

  • @Burqua12 - agreed..... that singer's always out of breath anyways. Love 10cc, but yeah this performance aint ace. Love the song tho.

  • Graham Gouldman = Neil Diamond? LOL! (pun intended.)

  • Was this a good idea?

  • Thanks for this. I thought most people had forgotten about 10CC years ago.

  • How can anyone forget about 10cc?????

    :)

  • Oh NO NO NO!!! I donot like their take on Paperback writer~

  • @1beatles me neither.

  • Why oh why oh why?! 10CC have so many of their own fantastic tunes, some of which are fairly Beatles influenced, but are nevertheless good in their own right. I don't get why they decided to do these rather bad covers in a show? PW sounds like Good Morning Judge straining to escape!

  • they were the beatles of the early seventies then godley and creme left , and elo then filled the void . still they are great .

  • I always thought the drummer shd be the one wearing the sunglasses so that tells me the man stand who is wearing them has the clinging wife and is the paperback writer. But hey, hope yr world changes soon. You're changing mine. Aww again!

  • As a Beatles devotee, I was hoping that 10 cc would be my number 2 band when the Fab Four broke up. Then sadly, Godley and Creme left.

  • Superb !!! BTW , Doesnt "accross the Universe " fit the movie "Pleasantville" perfectly ? It is as if Lennon knew 28 years from 1970 That he needed to write the song for it

  • i've been waiting years to know the title of this film, pleasantville. thanks.

  • i have heard/viewed many versions of ATU song.10cc do it justice .paperback writer is another fav beatles song for me .thanks for the vid annieo

  • YUMMY!!!

  • bloody awful!

  • that paperback writer was just what a cover should be - unpretentious and original

  • The lead guitar is beautiful; it sent shivers up my spine.

  • a GREAT BAND IN THERE DAY SO MUCH TALENT but all good things come to and end

  • nothing's gonna change my word.

    good from them 10cc.

i hope you come to my country holland.

  • Laatst in Hengelo en ik geloof eind deze maand in Enschede. Nog kaarten verkrijgbaar. Waren trouwens ook afgelopen zaterdag bij spijkers met koppen ;-)

  • I was lucky to grow up with 10cc and Genesis in the early to mid 70's; no one's produced anything better since. What do we have now, 50 Cent and Justine Timberlake?

  • muse...

  • Omg I am so with you x

  • Even worse. now we have x factor wannabees.

  • just agreeing with pleeezeeatme there

  • This is great to be able to see and find out about the existence of actual 10cc video. It's too bad video was only in the infant stage when they were all still together, because with Godley a Creme took to it like ducks to water in the early 80's. Then again, their lyrics were so visually oriented, you probably wouldn't need pictures other than what you imagined in your head. Godley and Creme believed you should "avoid telling the story like the plague!"

  • The point is they are not trying to sound like the Beatles...Take a chill pill.

  • You are right; naturally, as great songwriters themselves, they appreciated other great songwriters.

  • Thanks a lot for this upload - was a fan since i was a kid - but never heard these before.

  • I think it's a great interpretation!

  • Never will sound like The Beatle's, but I do like their other song's

  • It's a tribute man.I don't think anybody's trying to better The Beatles.

  • Yes, that's right but he could have got more credit for the masterpieces he wrote during the 60's.

  • Of course Graham is talented that goes without saying. Good thing is you can still see him as he still tours every year.

  • I've been listening to 10CC a lot lately and realizing just how talented Graham was ALSO...he contributed so much and he doesn't get any credit or enough respect. He's a FANTASTIC bass player, writer and singer as well as the other 3 were.

  • yes, please upload some more..

  • Why does he feel the need to cover the Beatles when he's got so many of his own wonderful songs he could perform?

  • Yes you are right he does have many wonderful songs he could preform but i think he is just paying tribute to one of his influences and as a Beatles lover that doesn't much care for covers of their songs ( as they don't usually stack up ) they did a pretty damn good job of them....very impressed!!

  • Eric rules. His voice and writing are second to none.

Graham is just out for the cash- which he doesn't need. He wrote "For your Love" for the Yardbirds.

  • Eric Stewart credits himself as 10cc? For me 10cc always were Eric, Graham, Kevin and Lol

  • I have to disagree; Graham is currently touring as 10cc when he is the only original member remaining. Eric hasn't toured as 10cc since 1993 with the Mark II version.

  • Still at least Eric released a fantastic solo CD (Do Not Bend) which I can highly recommend if you haven't heard it. He's been working on another CD for the last couple of years or so which hopefully will be released next year.

  • You should never say never but as far as Eric is concerned there is absolutely NO WAY that he and Graham will team up again after the debacle of Mirror Mirror.

  • What happend after Mirror Mirror? I listened to it the oter day by the way and noticed that Eric and Graham hadn´t written any songs together, only with others or by themselves.

  • There's a couple of versions of events regarding Mirror Mirror. Graham recorded his material in London and Eric recorded his songs in France (neither could agree to meet up together to work on the material both put forward for inclusion on the album). I guess the songwriting partnership came to an end at that point.

  • Does anyone know when/where this was recorded?

  • Yes, in Tokyo in 1993. The DVD was released with different titles, "Live in Japan", "From the Front Row", Rubber Bullets", to name 3.

  • Thanks for the info. I guess it's been a while since Graham and Eric sang together, but one could always dream.

  • Graham was lead vocallist on Dreadlock Holiday as well as quite a few album tracks.

  • It's lovely to see Graham Gouldman singing lead. I've only ever seen Eric, Lol and Kevin singing lead before.

  • Graham had a few hits before 10cc but I don't remember the titles

  • He wrote "Bus Stop" and "Look Through Any Window" for the Hollies and "For Your Love" and "Heart Full of Soul" for the Yardbirds. Talk about diversity!
