This makes me miss my Woobie soooooo much. He too would suck my fingers and sleep. Unfortunately, we had to have him put to sleep the day after Christmas '09. He was 61/2 yrs old, had him since 14 days. Love the video!!

Oh that is so sad! I dread the day I lose Outlaw. I hope he lives as long as Remy Raccoon. I think he was in his 20's when he died!

It is very sad. We're having a really hard time with this. It's only been 2 weeks. Remo lived to be 18, and I've been in contact with his owner through this whole ordeal. I've seen your other video's of Outlaw on his birthday, and they remind me so much of our Woobie. Please let me caution you. Our Woobie passed away from pancreatitis. This was caused from all the high sugary and fatty foods that he loved so much. Just trying to help another coon lover. :)

Don't racoons carry rabies? They can find any food in a campsite. That's why I hang it from a tree. It's kind of freaky too when you hear them outside your tent moving around at night or when you shine your flashlight into the nearby bushes around the campsite and see their eyes glow. They also have ferocious barks and growls.

Well, true, but I think it's honorable to adopt baby or injured animals when humans are the cause of the incident, whether it involved cars or cutting down trees or went a hunter hits it and left it wounded.

I DID try a pacifier. He wouldn't go for it. Luckily he just sucks our thumbs for as long as we let him. He falls asleep just fine without us! :)

Some of our babies, not all, like to suck on a finger. Tried to get them to use a pacifier but they insist on a finger or neck skin (Have to be careful as they will give us a "rickey" aka "hickey." We have one little boy who came to us with an eye infection. When we took him to the vet he was sucking on my finger and trying to ignore where he was. It was the first time the vet had seen one do that. The vet also does rehab and we get most of our babies from him. Love your babies.

Unlike people, animals only defend themselves. Babies that are fostered show a lot of affection to their new "parents." The squirrels that we took care of still come to us for treats.
