I am from Baton Rouge and I played in My High School Band (Capitol Sr.High) and Southern was our inspiration, but TSU took this one. Maybe the camera was too close to Southern, but TSU had a much fuller sound.

Southen's uniforms looked really good. Also, I like their band on the field shows. The drumming is something that I don't appreciate but that doesn't mean it's wrong or bad...it's just that my background doesn't give me the ability to appreciate their syle. Wow, SU's snares are really slung low. I feel sorry for the taller guys. That's a long way to reach. It's easy to see why SU's basses are getting that sounds as well. Those heads are ultra thin. Hard to get a higher pitch with em.
