This Smart car does not offer proper leg protection in a crash. If you look for the video here on youtube where they crash one at 70mph, the cars windshield is intact and the doors open, BUT the leg area was completly compromised. I don't want a car that may make me an amputee in a car crash thank you very much.
unfortunately, most american women love giant SUV's and american men love raised pickup trucks. the only place it will sell is in the big cities. middle america will shun it. they probably couldn't fit in it anyways.

warbird means a first car for the individual. I think it would be a great first car for someone - I'm considering it myself. I love its look and features. It comes out in the first quarter of 2008 in the US.
A good first car?! They have been out in Europe since 1998, and they've been here in Canada for the past three years. This is the second generation model that you Americans are getting.

Wrong-o. The cell is NOT compromised. Actually has a better crash rating than a full-seized S-Class.
