  • This is a PRO. and a Gentlemen. (to bad he is a liberal)....

  • This is a PRO. and a Gentlemen.

  • Carl Palmer is the GREATEST living drummer. Buddy Rich was his BEST teacher because he was the BEST drummer of HIS time. Carl's been my idol for 40 years.

  • Emerson Lake & Palmer is simply put the greatest progressive rock band in rock n roll history. Carl Palmer is the best drummer alive today and Keith Emerson is the Greatest keyboard player ever in rock n roll alive or dead period

  • "Emerson, Lake, and Palmer would argue over two bars of music for about six months. Simple as that. It's not complicated. That's the way it would be." That just made me crack up, lol.

  • Hes talking about flow and lack of flow in the writing process. awesome guy. its really refreshing to hear him be objective about which albums smoked, and which were like dogpoo. and also when he mentions how when you're too close to something, you're incapable of seeing how it sucks.

  • i've made a definate connection with amazing drummers .the 1's that are truly godly in their talents are all down to earth and like to teach others about their craft. derek roddy, george kollias, (no 1 would expect extreme metal dudes to be nice) jojo mayber, thomas lang, marco minneman .. they all seem to be really down to earth dudes who care about the drums ..slightly intoxicated ramble .. but really .. where do you see this from players of other instruments?.. drummers are a different breed

  • Can anyone please indicate when has this interview taken place? Carl looks so focused and in such a great shape..i'd deeply appreciate. thanx.jL

  • I appreciate Carl's honesty about the 90's records. He was right, they were not nearly as creative as earlier albums like "Brain Salad Surgery." The reason is clear though. Aside from the causes he mentioned, there was a clear lack of hunger in the musicianship that was present in the earlier albums. An unquenchable desire to push themselves that made the record sounds like they were missing something. That was it. Ferocity and high spirits. I'd LOVE to see ELP do something again like that.

  • he is a class act

  • Carl is a very intelligent and precious man. And the number 1 drummer! Respect!
