Kurt's parent's divorce at the age of 7 (Metioned in the letter) had a HUGE affect on his life. I've read a few of his interviews and even he said that his life was perfect up until his parent's divorce. Some kids just feel left out in those situations and Kurt was one of 'em. Lousy to end his letter with a Neil Young line: "It's better to burn out than to fade away". He should have just quit music not his life but what can you do?

He was depressed b/c hard-core drug use altered his brain and made him emotionally unstable. His suicide was a tragedy only because it was totally preventable had he made a deliberate effort to free himself from his dependency on drugs.

Kurt's parent's divorce at the age of 7 (Metioned in the letter) had a HUGE affect on his life. I've read a few of his interviews and even he said that his life was perfect up until his parent's divorce. Some kids just feel left out in those situations and Kurt was one of 'em. Obviously, that's a life changing decision, so naturally he left a note. But then the bottom 1/4 is written in much smaller and slightly different handwriting, and this is the only part that mentions anything related to pain and death. Not here to start shit. How the hell is everyone sitting here saying that Courtney killed Kurt? Can you NOT hear the pain and the anguish in her voice while she's reading that?? She may be really fucked up in the head, but come on people she's a murderer on top of it? I don't think so. And just for record, Courtney Love sucks in my opinion at acting which is why I KNOW this is sincere. Get a grip people.

I feel really sorry for Courtney. It's a terrible thing to lose a loved one. But on top of that to lose someone when you're both so young and have such a young kid together, and to lose someone in such a tragic and pointless way, it just must seem like the end of everything. If I lost a wife to suicide I don't think I'd ever get over it.

Its also disrespectful that some of you called her a bitch...not only to her but to kurt. Thats his fucking wife. You have to think about if you were in her shoes....shes not gona see him anymore until the day she dies. She cant wake up next to him every morning or kiss him goodnight. So yeah its tough. It's just weird... how she reads the letter as fast as she can, and emotionless (its obvious the sobs are over acted and she would have cried way more; the love of her life just suicided)... except when she says: Well, Kurt, so f***ing what, then don't be a rockstar, you ASSHOLE. The only emotion i heard was the anger of those words... Kurt was about to quit music. And at the end she complains about her love... ohh, and she sounds a lot like me when i try to cry on purpose.

SOME PEOPLE SIMPLY DON'T BREAK DOWN SOBBING ALL THE TIME, THEY HANDLE IT, otherwise they fall apart. + after a while, crying exhausts you, and the emotion comes out but not the tears. Courtney love was a tough chick, tough chicks don't cry much! My best friend killed himself 20 yrs ago and they become the enemy. Stop being narrow-minded and consider the fact that he was a drug addict with deep-seeded problems which he did not want help for. If he cared to act as a spokesman for our generation, he wouldn't leave behind the grim message of "it's better to burn out than fade away". You all have to be open-minded about it. Most of you treat Kurt as if he was a fucking God. He wasn't interested in pleasuring you. He was interested in pleasuring himself. I think the problem is that we're still all finding it hard to accept his suicide. Courtney is crazy. We all know that. But Kurt was extremely depressed, that's something you have to remember. It's depression that killed him, not her.
Personally I'm a fan of both of them. I'm a fan of Courtney's music anyway, not necessarily her. In fact most of the time I can't stand her. But she's not a murderer. I think she's just suffered a lot.

Watch Kurt Cobain: About a Son. Read his poetry. He was other-worldly, incredibly sensitive, and incredibly depressed. Even as a child, he felt things most people dont feel until they're miserable adults. He was too smart for his own good. Even I, someone who didn't know him personally, saw his suicide coming way before it happened. Courtney is a crazy bitch, but if Kurt was able to love, marry, and have a child with her, how awful can she be? There's a lot more to that woman than meets the eye.

You did not see his suicide coming. You were not close to Kurt. Everybody who was close to Kurt all agreed that he wasn't suicidal. I'm not trying to be mean, but you need to realize that it's extremely easy to believe Kurt killed himself when you aren't knowledgable on the facts of the case.
