  • wrong about the fastest clock speed of 1.4GHz, there are plenty of phones with stock 1.5GHz and that doesn't even include OC's

  • But everyone is different. I like big screen phones, but that's just too big for me. I own a tablet and barely use it cause my hands/wrists starts to hurt. But everyone is different, don't get me wrong, the Note is nice, but I'm good with my Nexus. Better phones gone be coming out in the near future. I'll wait on something worth upgrading for. The Note is not for me :-) I'm glad everyone enjoys it tho, the phone is nice :-)

  • Plus to me, the Note is just like the GS2 with a lil more features, I've owned the GS2 before switching to the Nexus. I love my Nexus, better than any other phone I've ever owned.

  • it also helps me to use the S PEN app of the note, you have to admit that you'd rather use a pen and a paper to save something immediately than type it on your device so that's what makes me choose the note plus, the fact that the white version is lovely! haha! unfortunately i have to choose black coz i'll be buying radar as my spare phone, i love gingerbread especially if the note has an upgraded ICS version and mango for radar! they'll blow BB os7 and iOS5 out of the water at anytime! =)

  • @xXDrummerkidzXx your phone is rooted?

  • I love my Nexus, the Note looks nice, but with ICS and the fact that this is a Google phone, I'll be getting updates quicker than any other phone. The Nexus screen is big enough for me. For once, I'm satisfied with the Nexus, plus I had the GS2 abt a month ago. I was in love with it until the I got the Nexus. A well upgrade and I hope they come out with a Galaxy Nexus 2 in the future. Cause this is by far the greatest phone I've ever purchased.

  • Everyone talking about the lag on the galaxy nexus needs to relax. I'm running 4.0.4 on my nexus, and its speed has increased significantly, along with better battery life, and better data connection. The 4.0.5 update is supposed to come in March, just wait until then, it will be worth it.

  • THESE ARE PHONES! PLEASE COMMENT ON CALL QUALITY IN THE BEGINNING OF ALL YOUR REVIEWS!

  • you do realize that the nexus is stock with nothing done to it right? thats not the point of the phone. it is unlocked with an unlocked bootloader so you can do what you want with it. and i know that with a different firmware and or kernel it will fly. and quadrant and lin specs mean nothing to a person that uses the phone. It all comes down to how it work in the everyday use.

  • I bought note a few days ago. Best purchase ever!!!!!

  • So which phone is better?

  • Lisa.

I'm seriously considering the Galaxy Note in the next two months. (I can upgrade my plan April 15th AT&T). I love long battery life, I've seen the 5000 mAh extended battery pack for the note, if (and hopefully when) the Note receives ICS Os would you recommend it with the battery pack?

P.S. The size of the phone does not matter to me even with the enlarged battery pack. I'm upgrading from a first gen Blackberry Torch. Would the transition be easy?

  • NEXUS, GALAXY S2 AND IPHONE 4S THE BEST.

  • NOTE IS BETTER!!!!

  • i want to have a girlfriend like you :))

  • @andreasaatte I'm sorry, my brother was on my iPad and it happened to be on my account, he was being retard..

  • In the beginning 3:33 + 3:33 = 666!!!!!!!

  • @nate7454 Actually 3:33 + 3:33 = 7:06 -.-

  • the galaxy nexus looks horrible cant wait to get my samsung galaxy note

  • Lisa, I like your videos a lot, seen so many of them. Could you tell me the camera you use to record (say this v.clear video) & at what resolution? I use a Samsung PL 200, recording in excellent lighting conditions at 1280 x 720 HQ at 30 fps, & yet the video quality is not that great, even for YouTube. Also, the file size is HUGE, with 5 minutes of footage being as much as 350 MB, that takes FOREVER to upload! The output format - MP4, also seems to be a prob on YouTube as I have noticed. Thnx!

  • the galaxy nexus is so ugly...

  • What's with people saying the note is too big ?? Obviously they aren't used to having BIG things in their hands... :P

  • Umm the note seems like it's a little to big

  • We would like to see action of the benchmarks rather just hear you talk while we are staring at the phones. Yes, the Note has Corning's Gorilla Glass.

  • BREATHE WOMAN .. BREATHE DAMIT .. u re forgetting the most important thing here .. i kno u got a lot to say .. but u need to tak a break and breathe in the middle of ur sentences

  • haha .. I jus died at 6:08 when she said .. so in terms of synthetic speed .. the galaxy note just BLOWS .. 'long pause' .. BLOWS away ..

  • Very good review. if you were a sales person you definitely would have my $700 for the galaxy note.

  • Note all the way!

  • Great review!

  • LOL, Note is the beastiest phone.

  • Is Verizon getting a version of the note?

  • damn! you really know your stuff!! but that thing is wayyyy too big for me! hence why i got me a Nexus :)

  • a good handfull whip it out

  • @77ccarter but the rezound uses a snapdragon which is a joke when compared to the awesome sauce that is EXYNOS...

  • Nice review!!

  • Ima iPhone owner and im think about getting the note. It's a REAL phone. I only like apple cause of the IOS very responsive & simple. When jailbroken tweak galore. But Samsung did great with this phone.

  • The note is not mobile at all. How can u go to the gym with it? Normal jeans cant even fit it. It's too big for a phone. Sammy has gone too far with it lol

  • @thanhpluv it's really not as big as you would think. Once you get past the fact that the phone is a lot bigger than other phones, you get used to it and it is totally pocketable

  • "touchwizified" :-)

  • Very nice review. I like that you know your info and don't pause a lot and make the video unnecessarily long. I think the Note doesn't really offer that much. The screen on the Nexus is large enough.

  • i am stuck between galaxy nexus, galaxy note, galaxy s2, and nexus s can you please tell me which one is good for me? i care about getting the latest updates and a good camera and performance

  • Any word on a case with a kickstand or other method of holding it at an angle for viewing?

  • I vote note as it wws awesome. ..imusing it

  • I got tricked into believing that galaxy nexus is smooth by all the reviews on youtube. I'm just giving my honest opinion here. Got my galaxy nexus 2 days ago everything went real smooth until I start installing widgets and "go launcher" which they say is the best one out there. Scrolling from homescreen is laggy, real laggy. Returned the galaxy nexus and waiting for my note.

  • @MiahTheKing What do you expect, your using a launcher on top of another launcher (stock) so you will have 2 processes running which slows down the phone.

  • @Nightfall983 Hmm you're right but everyone is saying bout how fast the processor is, I like ICS but overall, it is a disappointment. I had to return it and get a note. Oh and, I notice that even before I install anything, scrolling between homescreen is still laggy. That 1.2Ghz dual core is real slow.

  • @MiahTheKing Also go launcher isn't optimize for ICS 4.0

  • @MiahTheKing lol pls tell hows the note behave with widgets etc stress test on it ?>?? i really wonder wich one to buy between those 2

  • dec 22 ... the tegra 3 was out ?, which gives the best mobile hardware to the asus transformer prime :)

  • Last time I checked the rezound is clocked higher 1.5ghz

  • give me your opinion. which phone i should to purchase. Samsung Galaxy note, Galaxy s2 or Iphone 4S? plz give me opinion i am lil bit confused.

  • Galaxy note whatta phone, wow

  • Note genial

  • A women doing a review, better than a guy doing it. More details! Thank you!

  • Lisa is the best and her voice is sooooo comforting! Im debating on buying one of those two phones but I'm still not sure which one to pick, I think I would love the note with the big screen but ice cream sandwich looks really tasty!

  • 06:46 "Pentile Matrix involved." re. the Notes' display? Mmm. You always introduce interesting concepts in your reviews. Guessing that means with manufacturing the Notes' display, Samsung re-organised manufacturing to modify their pixel number/ability?

That is a story in itself Lisa.

  • Hi Lisa,

I have seen a review of The LG Spectrum ans I'll admit,VERY Impressive. I think after the GALAXY Phones, The Spectrum and RAZR MAXX are the next best Android phones. Have You yet played with the Galaxy Skyrocket HD? I've also heard rumors of the Galaxy S3. I need a new phone badly and looking at decisions based on Phone,NOT Carrier. The minute I think I know which phone, then I hear about Quad Core phones and such. Impossible to keep up w/Technology!!! At sometime, need to bite a bullet

  • @bobbgraziano You are absolutely right about how hard it is to keep up with new technology. ;) We will have a review of the LG Spectrum soon. Stay tuned.

  • @bobbgraziano i'll say wait for quad core phones. From what i see. its going to be pretty soon so wait. :D

  • Bless you Lisa ! Best review I've seen on this. One question, what about the camera on the Note?

  • @isurunawinne Thanks! Check out our full written review of the Note on MobileTechReview. We covered the camera in detail, the review link is in the video description.

  • great review Lisa.

  • I wonder what the best phone on verizon will be in 2 months?

  • one of the best reviews and reviewers i have seen..keep up the great work..i wanted to thank you on your website but the email registration is way too complex..thanks lisa

  • @personifiedk Thank you! The easiest way to comment on our reviews on our site is via Disqus. Our forum gets too much spam, so we don't allow POP3 like gmail account to register.

  • that's what is called a review...there is no room fro confusion after seeing this. thank quite a lot for such a comprehensive review. looking forward for the sony xperia S review.

  • @MrLanmx same over here

  • Why do you describe WiFi as a "power hog" when you can get longer usage times over WiFi than 3G?

  • Very in-depth review but browser test should have waited for the web page to fully load (progress bar instead of when web page appears)...Galaxy Nexus was a bit faster but probably due to ICS.

  • Great review. Simple and to the point. No other crap. This review is helping make a clear choice. Thanks!!

  • Subscribed now thank me Muawahahahaha joke XD best review indeed.

  • well it is going on at&t so that makes life happy

  • @DustoffDust and you can get an ice cream sandwich upgrade on the note

  • But for the note you can flash CM9 or install ICS launcher for the pure google experience.

  • Note is $1499 New Zealand Dollars, imported :\

  • Note ftw!

  • BEST REVIEWER ON EARTH!

  • @appleism100 Thanks! :)

  • hi, pls make review on galaxy tab 7.7. thank,s.

  • @van11041 We shall.

  • as a developer which one should i get ?

  • Note betther

  • I have always liked your reviews but I do have problem giving better ratings due to internal hardware. Android is in need of better software that speeds up the devices not better specs.

  • If I get the Galaxy Note before it comes out with the Android 4.0 can I update it afterwards like an apple device or do I have to get a whole new phone to get 4.0?

  • @iixSTEALTH ofc you are able to update it! Why wouldn´t you!?

  • @iixSTEALTH

The ics update for the note will be released in the first quarter of next year. (2013) Pretty long time. The galaxy s2 is scheduled for ics either febuary, march, or April of 2012/.

Android upgrades are unlike apple ones. Each device gets a separate update

  • Note ist betther

  • that was a good comparison but I am still undecided. I am using a Google Nexus S at the moment. (I'm an android app developer who didn't develop even a single app though)

  • Such great insight on both both Lisa. I hope you keep up your good reviews and THANK YOU for using 1080p videos!

  • @Neoand12 You are welcome! We will! And please keep watching and share our reviews with friends! :)

  • Galaxy Note, please come to Verizon, I don't want to switch to ATT

  • MobileTechReview has the best reviews!!!

  • @TheTheglennmurray Thank you! :)

  • Stop talking too much. Just review the handsets. I don't want price tag or carrier plan.

  • I almost brought the galaxy note on amazon the other day, but I have bills to pay:-( I hope with a 3rd of my heart that I can get this phone soon... hi Lisa ;-)

  • Lisa you do the best reviews and I really enjoy watching them. I recently bought the note off Amazon and had to return it because I was having screen issues. For example, I had some vertical lines that appeared to be burned in and also video was poor in black areas unlike my Samsung infuse when viewing side by side. I returned the phone and I'm hesitant to give it another chance. Did you notice any of these problems with your note and was yours a retail version or was it provided by Samsung?

  • @mchagoya83 The one we reviewed is the retail version and doesn't have that issue.

  • Lisa, I really enjoy your reviews, insightful, in depth and you take a users perspective which is so often missed in tech reviews. Thank you!

  • @66GMT Thank you so much!! Appreciate the support! :)

  • Which one get better data speeds.

  • Lisa you truly are the best....god bless you

  • @Ricko230 Than you!! :)

  • @MobileTechReview Thanks for another great video. I've had my Note for just over a month now and it's the best phone I've owned. Hopefully manufacturers will take note (!) and make phones in the future which don't compromise on CPU power, battery and build quality.

  • But will it blend?

  • ur hot

  • thanks great review

  • I like watching phones sit on the table while you try your best to regurgitate numbers off screen from your script. Use of the videos. . video is good, might as well just put a scan of your script on screen.

  • Another awesome comparison/review. Thanks Lisa, your the best.

  • @ExpandYourTribe Thanks!! :)

  • Nice comparison. I like the Galaxy Note a bit more but why is their lag on the device? The Galaxy S2 doesn't have lag, and its processor is clocked at 1.2GHz. The Note is clocked at 1.4GHz but still lag? Maybe with the Ice Cream Sandwich update it would become smoother and lag free. (I hope)

  • @khushalkhan7 It has to do with screen resolution I believe :/ not too sure tho

  • Lisa your review was wonderful, thanks. The 2 people that disliked the review probably have the galaxy nexus.

  • it would have been really neat to see Samsung put Honeycomb on the Galaxy Note, since it has the same resolution as its big brother, the Galaxy Tab 10.1. But Honeycomb doesnt have any phone functionality. I guess thats what ICS is for.

  • Lisa, I remember your review of the Dell streak 5. I got one shortly after that and still use it today. Now you review the Samsung Note. I guess I will have to get one shortly also. Thanks for the review.

  • @ClawSpike Excellent! :)

  • If I were to buy this overseas how much would it cost? For example in Hong Kong

  • Can you use the Galaxy Note on a U.S. CDMA network, like Verizon?

  • @idlefonzo201 Not with this GSM phone.

  • Excellent comparison Lisa. I very very very much hope Verizon gets the LYRICS Note! Been wanting a 5 inch smartphone since the Archos 5s came out! Lol. I tell people who complain about 4.3 inch screens and up that if they lessen the bezel on their current screen its not much different. Its more w the Note but videos demonstrate its pocketable and one could or even should get a case anyways to protect their investment, also to keep it on ones waste so they don't lose it.

  • Lisa you are the best geek girl in the world. Congratulations for your work. It helps many people choose their smartphones. Im your fan, from Brazil.

  • Thx

  • lisa i always thought that the 1.5 ghz dualcore snapdragon s3 prosessor on the (t-moblile) samsung galaxy sII was the fastest

  • @devon001full The 1.4GHz is the fastest clock speed Exynos yet (when I referred to the fastest yet Exynos). But yet, the 1.4GHz Exynos does better on synthetic benchmarks than the 1.5GHz Qualcomm dual core. The Exynos is an amazing CPU, but Qualcomm's seems to match better with LTE chipsets (Qualcomm makes LTE chipsets, they have an advantage!).

  • All of the benchmark sites that tests TiOMP vs exynos and other processors almost always have the TiOMAP as the better processor but everyone seems to obsess over the Exynos. I haven't play with either of the new processors. whats the deal?

  • @czwrestler The Exynos benchmarks faster than the TI OMAP in most tests. It's an impressive CPU. But honestly, TI, Samsung and Qualcomm all are making great stuff right now. When we get our hands on the Tegra 3 in the unfashionably late Transformer Prime, we'll see how that does.

  • Very nice review, Lisa. If iPhone 5 doesn't come out with at least a 4.5" screen, you've covinced me that the Note is for me ... even if I have to carry a man purse! (I sorta do now anyways ... my laptop bag. I don't have a laptop in it but carry all my other stuff in it that I need on a day to day basis.)

  • Starting to hate reviews.. Some say nexus is the best ever, and now you completely down it

  • @tylerhoell If you really listen to us, we don't hate the Galaxy Nexus. In fact we like it quite a lot. This is a comparison of arguably two of the best phones of the year. The Note isn't for everyone, it's very large and very expensive if you are in the US.

  • @tylerhoell sure, Nexus may be best ever ... until something else comes out that's even better, as always is the case with consumer tech. Lisa is telling us that the usurper might be here now ... i.e., the Note.

  • Install darky rom it will take care of the lag!

  • If dell had that display and a better interface for their android tablet the steak maybe they would have sell better, but then again it's all about timing with software and hardware.

  • lol, no man purse...

  • Samsung note but i cant use the mms...thanks

  • Hey lisa can you please tell me how can i set up my mms or activate? I can use the internet on my a

  • Galaxy nexus vs. iphone 4s?

  • Thanks Lisa, from your previous Note video I ordered the Note from Europe and love it! Fast and replaces my tablet I carried around for work! So much nicer to carry a "phablet" than two devices.

    Question:

What are your thoughts on the Samsung software; S planner, Hub, S pen writting etc? I think although nice they could certainly be better. I'm interested to hear your thoughts!

    Keep up the great work!

  • lol. the Note dwarfed the Galaxy Nexus

  • Lisa, can I ask you what's your personal mobile phone?

  • @Semitela Mostly the Note and Skyrocket right now, but also an HTC HD7S and an iPhone 4S.

  • Nice review as always Lisa. I saw the benchmark scores on your web site review. I wanted to ask if you test once or do you list best results of several tests or an average of several scores? Thanks.

  • @yantravimana We post the average score for each benchmark after at least 10 tests per benchmark.

  • Note is really, really BIG!

  • Your reviews are shit!!!

  • @benbunter you forgot "the"

  • @benbunter

Ohhhhh 'cuz you could do better with EVERY SINGLE tablet and phone at YOUR house?

Like 1 phone and no tablet that is.

  • When there is no microsd slot when you factory reset the phone you need to transfer all your media back.

  • Business as usual. Great video, Lisa!

  • i always liked ur reviews,it showed me exactly what i wanted to see.......^_^

  • Can you do a smackdown between the galaxy nexus and the htc titan?

    i know it sounds ridiculous

but i just really want that

  • You can get both of these phones on newegg so you don't have to worry about finding an importers site.

  • Nice video but kind of boring.

  • Lisa, another great, solid, informative review. Keep up the great job. :)

  • Lisa how on EARTH did you know that I was between the two!? You know SO much! hehe. Thanks! You made it easier for me :)

  • Great review.

  • Galaxy Note would it work with T-Mobile. Just wondering...

  • @lrobles787 You'd only get 2G (EDGE) on T-Mobile US with the Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Nexus is pentaband though, and that means 3G/4G HSPA+ on both AT&T T-Mobile US if you get the unlocked GSM version (not the Verizon version).

  • I would really love to have a Samsung Galaxy Note on Verizon's network. Love the big screen.

  • The note....love it

  • I prefer the original Galaxy S2 :)

  • That if one phone you can't use if you be texting alot in class, you will always be seen

  • Htc amaze has a 1.5 ghz processor

    get your facts straite

  • hmm lisa thats odd I would say otherwise there is more lag noticeable on the Nexus than the Note, I have played with both and the note is way faster and really no lag, and the Nexus the app drawr had lag and the widget drawer was even worst, anyhow both are great phones though.
