not a beautiful match, but souwer won. Compare this Buakaw to the buakaw of the some others matches... This was not him. He did NOTHING except in the 1st round. Souwer didnt shine, and thats why they got. They both are much better than this. 3 techniques each... I dont think its final k1 max level. They did better before this fight and after...

first: this is K!, not Muay thai, that means unified rules, and buakaw was bitching out off the fight by clinching every, and I mean EVERY single time souwer got to him, instead of countering some effective blows. Quit comparing stiles for God's sake, those times are over. If Manny Paquioa and buakaw would fight in boxing and buakaw would be beaten then there would still be IDIOTS who would say "Ohhh dude, mothafucker, if that was a Muay thai match Buakaw would win for sure.

I just watched this fight for the 10th time or something and everytime I watch it it makes me mader and mader. Buakaw clearly won every round, F K-1, Buakaw should be a 3 time champ and arguably a third after they robbed him again against Souwer in the 2009 semis.

See the replays in the end and maybe you will understand.. I noticed at least 10 full-contact punches right on the face of Bukaw in this round alone. On the contrary, he passed very few kicks on Sauer. Not to mention that I have noticed that every time Bukaw is in trouble he is clinching his opponent. Finally, bear in mind that K1 is not a show for clowns. It is a tournament with regulations..

@Invictvis Buakaw landed at least twice as many knees and kicks as Souwer did punches, which are higher scoring techniques, Buakaw also dumped him twice in the 5th round. Also, theres nothing wrong with clinching even when one is hurt, its called fighting smart, whats Buakaw supposed to do, just stand there and let Souwer tee off on him.

watching the fight shows that Buakaw is most dominant, but he didnt play by the rules. Full Muay thai rules & Souwer would be counting his teeth after the 1st round for sure.

Buakaw has knocked out Andy on the following year for the sweer revenge. K 1 rule is far different from full Muay Thai. The Jap knows very well that their fighters can not perform some technic, it thinks it from their genetic. So K 1 is their the Jap 's fighter. Thai boxer was confused and lost when first come to K 1 yet they have finally adapted to K 1. Buakaw and Andy will meet again this year 09 and I am prepared to put my money for Buakaw to win,

yes i watched the 2006 fight between Buakaw & Souwer was a great match.

& i agree that the thai boxers including buakaw was lost when he first came to K1 he wanted to clinch too much. K1 is suited to fit Masato more than anything & yes the fight takes place on the 26th this month come on Buakaw :D

buakaw has a habbit of throwing his oppnents on the ground after the hug, althaugh Andy is a great fighter & in my opinion buakaw was closing to hug him to decrease Andy's ability to unload on him, since Andy was more on the offensive BUT I'M NOT A PRO i could be wrong, its just my opinion. Buakaw is till one of my favs tho, great fight both

this is k1 rules buakaw like yodsanklai dares to meet him under these rules. they are used to muay thai and have fought by them all there lives. if this was muay thai rules he would have his ass kicked for sure. but he rejected so far.

but props to souwer for taking it. but if you watch it in slow mo. he flinches every time he is kicked, except all the slow mo were focused on souwer's hits.

the match was one-sided.

they altered k-1 to cater masato. they start at the sem-finals now instead of the quarter-finals all the way up to the finals in one night.

which means you needed 3 W in one night to become champ rather than 2
