@smtorchio Did you by chance have this drama class at the University of New Orleans with Professor August Staub? This is one of my most vivid memories of my non-major undergraduate classes. This and Dr. Staub telling us that it was fine to have a New Orleanian accent at home an with friends but that if we wanted to succeed professionally in a wider world we needed to learn to speak standard American English.
