Only a wired gamepad will work. A play and charge cable will not allow the XIM3 to synchronize with the console as the charging gamepad still sends all of its input wirelessly.
Unless it has been confirmed otherwise, expect CS:GO PS3 to use UT3's multiplayer model in which gamepads and computer mice are kept separate of one another, meaning the only PS3 players someone on PC is going to be going up against will also be using a mouse. This would be the best way to manage multiplayer balancing for everyone.
There's 11ms of lag due to translation. This isn't enough to notice alone on CRTs or TN and fast IPS/*VA panels. Slower panels might be just at the threshold of your being able to perceive input lag, but that very much depends on the screen and the person. Most people have difficulty in differentiating between events shorter than 20ms and few console games have framerates that fast. Unless you can feel your screen's lag now with a mouse, the XIM3 will likely not change that.
It's possible but unlikely that you will feel any delay. Depending on familiarity with each, using a mouse can make it easier to feel when a movement should start and stop than with a thumbstick with large/varying deadzones. Because of this, it is possible that someone might notice a screen's input lag after switching from a gamepad to a mouse.
There shouldn't be a problem if you can't feel any mouse lag when hooking a PC up to the screen you use with your console.
I'm erring on the side of caution. Mouse lag was a problem for some users of the very first XIM design because it had to piggyback off of the XFPS, a KB+M/PS2 to X360 adapter whose low-quality innards introduced an extra 35ms lag on top of translation time and TV input lag. To my knowledge, all such issues ended when the XFPS was removed from the chain with the XIM2. The XIM3 has been similarly unaffected by lag, and I believe is around 5ms faster than the XIM2. Lag is a non-issue for the XIM3.
Yes and no. The Shark's best selling point is price. Past that, performance, quality of the equipment, and flexibility between games degrades the experience. If the Shark had precise deadzone adjustment and shaping, axis sensitivity ratio, acceleration compensation, diagonal movement multipliers, and input smoothing, it might match the XIM2 in translation, but would still fall short of Smart Translators. Between STs and better hardware, the XIM3 in on a completely different level.
Smart translators are only available for select games based on community demand, but the same custom config settings that make the XIMs perform better than every other adapter out there still exist for the XIM3. The only way another adapter could hope to compete from a performance standpoint would require they release the software used to configure their device. As it is, all you get from other companies is the equivalent of a single user-made translation profile on the XIM forums.

I think this product is for people who can't use a controller good enough. I just bought MW3 for xbox and being a PC gamer I have 0 aim with a controller. I'm tempted to get this but then I might as well just play MW3 on my PC, which I already do. mouse+kb on console is equal to cheats

Only a wired gamepad will work. A play and charge cable will not allow the XIM3 to synchronize with the console as the charging gamepad still sends all of its input wirelessly.

Unless it has been confirmed otherwise, expect CS:GO PS3 to use UT3's multiplayer model in which gamepads and computer mice are kept separate of one another, meaning the only PS3 players someone on PC is going to be going up against will also be using a mouse. This would be the best way to manage multiplayer balancing for everyone.

There's 11ms of lag due to translation. This isn't enough to notice alone on CRTs or TN and fast IPS/*VA panels. Slower panels might be just at the threshold of your being able to perceive input lag, but that very much depends on the screen and the person. Most people have difficulty in differentiating between events shorter than 20ms and few console games have framerates that fast. Unless you can feel your screen's lag now with a mouse, the XIM3 will likely not change that.

It's possible but unlikely that you will feel any delay. Depending on familiarity with each, using a mouse can make it easier to feel when a movement should start and stop than with a thumbstick with large/varying deadzones. Because of this, it is possible that someone might notice a screen's input lag after switching from a gamepad to a mouse.
There shouldn't be a problem if you can't feel any mouse lag when hooking a PC up to the screen you use with your console.

I'm erring on the side of caution. Mouse lag was a problem for some users of the very first XIM design because it had to piggyback off of the XFPS, a KB+M/PS2 to X360 adapter whose low-quality innards introduced an extra 35ms lag on top of translation time and TV input lag. To my knowledge, all such issues ended when the XFPS was removed from the chain with the XIM2. The XIM3 has been similarly unaffected by lag, and I believe is around 5ms faster than the XIM2. Lag is a non-issue for the XIM3.

Yes and no. The Shark's best selling point is price. Past that, performance, quality of the equipment, and flexibility between games degrades the experience. If the Shark had precise deadzone adjustment and shaping, axis sensitivity ratio, acceleration compensation, diagonal movement multipliers, and input smoothing, it might match the XIM2 in translation, but would still fall short of Smart Translators. Between STs and better hardware, the XIM3 in on a completely different level.

Smart translators are only available for select games based on community demand, but the same custom config settings that make the XIMs perform better than every other adapter out there still exist for the XIM3. The only way another adapter could hope to compete from a performance standpoint would require they release the software used to configure their device. As it is, all you get from other companies is the equivalent of a single user-made translation profile on the XIM forums.

Played it on a old laptop with 50 fps on highfps cfg xD. Anyways, I bought myself actually a PC for 1! game, and I paid... 150-200 bucks for a decent thing. 2. hand, but it works fine. Ill upgrade for a few bucks and thats it PC for actually 400-500 bucks and primary 1 game. ; )

ONLY thing that pisses off, is that people are sooo smallminded and cant calculate right, so just everybody buys a xbox and gives pc gaming not even a try. PC: Free DLC, Mod support, $50 games that are $65 on console.
Consoles also break easily, RRoD, YLoD, etc.
On a PC, maybe 1 hardware will crash and it's easy to fix and not having to send it to get fixed.
Also a $900 computer can last you about 4 years, and you can easily upgrade it to make it last way longer later in the years. The only expensive part about PC gaming is the beginning start of building
