This is probably my favorite movement of all time. It makes you want to rend your garments and wail. Painful, beautiful, tragic, passionate. This performance in particular is very moving.
As a professional musician, performer and teacher, it is fact that every performer has/his her own interpretation of the music. I agree with the other reviewer "they don't have to be flopping around all over the place to show that the music is intense." Quite frankly, her techinical ability is brilliant- don't mistake the technical intensity for interpretive intensity.

@wangman19 i totally agree. however, i think she just doesnt have the same charismatic stage presence that chang has. chang can make an audience fall in love with her before she even starts playing and everyone will rave about her, even when her playing isnt always..... quite there. its a shame, but thats just how things work
sorry mrs hahn, but if there was a contest to see who could play this peice the best, shoji would get the prize. however, i still think you [mrs hahn] rocks!!
Very nice performance.

@wangman19
Because she wasn't a child prodigy like Sarah Chang. Chang had a big career right off after getting into Juilliard at 5.

@kuvhlubkojibleegxwbo even though she is in ways better than Chang i think, personally i'm not a huge Chang fan, i think she slaughters.

I thought I likes hahn's interpretation but now I like this girl's interpretation more. Her tone reminds me of Hahn's tone back then
