I watched this video and thought, 'how did i end up here'? but then who who gives a fuck? it was a very emotional song that touched a nerve and you sang it brilliantly. im glad i watched : thanks for posting:
I left this comment before, but youtube hates me, haha; I was wondering if you could do "The Government Game" for me, it has the same air as the patriot game, but the words are different: Its about resettlement in Newfoundland, I think its a nice song. If youre interested drop me a line, and i'll send you the lyrics..
This is a beautiful song and one that I am familiar with because of Tommy Makem & the Clancy Brothers who I saw on stage here in Montreal three times back in the 60's. I was not aware of their "watering down."
so is this supposed to be a sort of bluegrass classic rock country irish traditional fusion or something? Great cover!

I don't do tabs, but the lyrics and chords of all my songs are on my website: raymondcrookeDOTcom
This one is under "Irish Songs".
If you can find the tabs for "With God On Our Side" it should be the same as for this song.

I've had a look at the lyrics, and will consider doing it. Should be easy enough as I've already put up two songs with this tune!

Great to hear this song again in such a fine version as well. Dominic Behan is a much neglected songwriter and performer I think.

Good stuff Raymond, the G' in Monaghan is silent, so it's pronounced Monahan.
Just a little pointer for the future.
