@Gregospinky In any case you will be very well received..... we have 4 linguistic communities italian, french, german and romansh and we have 23% of foreigners we behaves better than most countries in the world in 2010 Newsweek magazine ranked Switzerland the second best country in the world
thank you dude, in Switzerland we are lucky to have direct democracy that works perfectly the power belong to the people and not to politicians...in Switzerland some people do not even know who is the president of the Switzerland because it has not much political power compared to other presidents in the world
@swisscrazy239 In Switzerland there is a president who is elected by the Federal Assembly for 1 year and has no authority over his colleagues who are his equal, he chairs the meetings of Federal Council, but it isn `t really considered one chief state...this year ist Micheline Calmy-Rey since January 1, 2011 ...... if YOU live in switzerland you yhould know that............or not
@SirDias77 The Swiss President is not – as are, for example, the Presidents in Austria or Germany – the Head of State of the country: the Swiss Federal Constitution knows neither a Head of State nor a Head of Government.
in switzerland the president is just the head of the council he or she holds no more power than any other member of the council, so yea switzerland does have a president but its not a president like the one in the u.s
@swisscrazy239 I know that.......I said the president of the swiss confederation had no power like the other presidents, but he was elected by the Federal Council so even if it has no power even when he has the title of President of the confederation
@SirDias77 the swiss president is elected by the assemblé générale of the upper and lower house( National and Ständerat) since the conseil fédéral is the executive and its 7 members work as a collegium( college) its president is formal and representative only--since the conseil national and conseil d'états still has the last word as the legislative powers of a swiss president are just decor
