nope, nothing on your DS needs to be changed in any way. Just pop in the cartridge :)

1. When it says u can either play a GBA game via fast load or patch... does patch mean that the GBA game gets put on the GBA explansion pak?

1) Your m3 will automatically make it's own save files, so dont worry about that. Generally the save files will end up in the same folder that your .nds files are in.

2) Same thing

3) For gba games, yes you are correct. Fast-load will run the game from your slot 1's microSD card. It just uses the slot-2 for a bit extra RAM. Patching will move the entire game onto the slot-2. This takes a while, but it will stay on there.

I ordered an M3 DS Real Perfect bundle with a 4gb Micro SDHC card a couple of days ago, and I'm really excited to get it, but I just have two questions:

1.) I heard that the GBA expansion pack is pretty power hungry, probably because of its RAM. How much battery life does your DS or DS Lite have with the expansion pack inserted?

2.) Do Game Boy Color emulators such as Lameboy DS and SNES emulators require the flash cart, or the expansion pack?

If you factor in M3 Sakura I would have to say the M3 Real is the best flashcart out there. Some things like CycloDS are simple and fast with some features like slowdown, etc. But the M3/Sakura is good all around in my opinion.

CycloDS is worth every buck

Acekard 2 is not nearly as feature-rich, but it works well for standard/basic stuff.

M3 DS is also pretty good... and there are a lot of skins for it and the sakura version.

For the DS games that have rumble (like elite beat agents), then the rumble pack will rumble your DS. The GBA expansion lets you play game boy advance games on the DS (you cannot play gba games on the DS with only a slot-1 flash cart)

M3 is light years ahead of DSTT......with the M3 you get updates about once a month so if there are any problem games they're usually playable in the next update. DSTT rarely gets updates. Plus you can use 4 different firmwares with the M3 and there are tons of options. If you get the perfect bundle you can play gba roms and use the ds browser as well

Get the M3, the edge is a cheap rip off of the cyclods. The M3 has the option to use 3 different firmwares, the default firmware for the m3, called touchpod has a nice interface and seperate nds and gba selection menus, but not so great on the touch screen side of things. You can use the sakura firmware if you want it to have smooth touch screen operation in the menu.

personally i think the m3 ds real is superior because even though it is made in asia, it seems to function better then the r4 does. the R4 looks cheap and they've founf many problems with it

Nice. I think this will be my second (and then last for gods sake) Flashcart.

I already own a Cyclo DS evolution, wich i am happy with, only thing i think is good on real is the (unoffical at moment) Sakura firmware. Because i have 3in1 with my cyclo, the GBA support or ram or rumble are not any big promises. Also, cyclo has had great support to this day.

I get the picture of this product from this video, and maybe will by one.

yes of course because it can also run the M3 Sakura firmware and thats the latest DS Flashcart there is.

my take on it would be no, because the sakura is unoffical for english M3 reals, as is the SAKURA HACK for all other flashcarts, so cyclo can run sakura for media and homebrew too (not offical roms)

Also, as M3 has its own GBA packs, cyclo adopted ez flash 3in1 into its support, so if you buy one cheap 3in1, cyclo ds evolution supports it fully from gui (GBA atm beta)

Both have their sides. I cannot say anything about wich one is better, cyclo has served me well.

Ds = 8 buttons, 1 D-pad

PS1 = 10 buttons, 1 D-pad, 2 analog sticks

DS is less powerful then the PS1.

M3 (or any flash) is only compatible with .NDS files, not .PSX, .ISO, or that crap.
