They are not "the japanese version" of anybody. B-T have their own unique, beyond awesome style. Of course they'd been influenced by certain artists as well, but that's completely different. And at this point, BT have influenced as many bands/artists as they have been influenced by.

@TheIndustrialClef There are some things similar but gackt has more of a faster pace this could be compared to Gackts song Mizerable when it slows down but otherwise they are completely different If you like this song then you might want to watch Night Walker an Anime thats on youtube only this is the opening song and theres an anime called shiki you can find it on hulu it has Buck tick's song Kuchizuke and another as the opening theme they are awesome animes

 To be honest I just think they have some vocal range and that is all. I think that is really the similarity that people have picked out. Yet, it doesn't mean they exactly sound the same.

@bananabonbon Depeche Mode predates Buck-Tick, and Buck-Tick doesn't have this Depeche-y feeling to them all the time. Regardless of any of that, they're both amazing bands with top-notch vocalists (who also both have really good solo albums).

It's not emo, but it *does* sound a bit like goth rock. Note that when I say Goth Rock, I mean Sisters of Mercy / Fields of the Nephilim / Violator-era Depeche Mode, not Marilyn Manson or what have you.

@HAL0INREVERSE They never even looked visual kei, much less sounded like it, although they influenced tons of VK bands. They were more cyberpunk in their imagery, at least in the 90s and early 00s. With 13kai wa Gekkou, they kind of adopted a dark cabaret sound, which fit them well. You could argue for the goth idea, since Atsushi is quite obviously influenced by the darker 80s bands (Sisters, Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Mission, etc.), but it never was visual kei, and NEVER emo. D=
