In light of training close to or 'at speed' simulation- I suppose it's always difficult to formatically say, "this will happen if you do this". However, would agree that with these techniques performed in a lot of practice, it allows a greater margin of error off-setting the opponents desired attack.

Avoiding and simultaneous counter cutting is preferable.
