I hate how Americans do not understand the difference between Sarcasm and Irony.. Especially when they use the word Irony or Sarcasm in the wrong sentence, just to make there sentence that little more intellectual... I think I am certified and valid enough to use the word "Lame" in which you Americans so like to use.

Sarcasm is when you say something like "Thanks alot" but when actually the person that your talking to you didn't help you at all.(Usually done in a tone of voice to make it obvious also.)

Irony is hard for me to explain but I can give a example. Locking yourself in your house when you just installed a brand new lock is ironic.

I do know. My teacher explained it to me a few weeks ago.
