  • i the hell enjoy listening his perfect pronunciation

  • Is it called bagpipes because you get a huge bag around your neck. while playing it?

  • Well pack it up folks, the greatest commercial ever made is right here.

  • Back then all grocers stocked a range of single malts...AND THEY SHOULD NOW, TOO, GOT FUCKING DAMNIT

  • i need a tweed

  • Best advertisement EVER! What else can one say (except get a clue to the OUAT "fans" who do not quite understand that Carlyle's Rumpel/Gold is making that show)..

    Amazing commercial!

  • Comment removed

  • So amazing, must have been hard to time it to get every prop in exactly the right place for the right time, if Carlyle walked or talked at the wrong speed it would have been off, and at 6 and a half minutes that a long time for one continuous take.

  • @SOPARA862k - He probably paced himself from the camera, that's my guess.

  • What is the song the "pipah" plays?

  • I'll stop drinking when johnnie walker stops walking ..

  • was in the movie 28 weeks later

  • Carlyle made this video so epic. His accent is flawless and i like his acting . !

The soundtrack fits so good into it :)

  • @MysteryEliteGermany He is a fantastic actor, but being a Glaswegian, that is his natural accent.

  • . . . . My jaw was dropped the whole time.

  • What a terrific product and brand story. Robert Carlyle is priceless in this. Really amazingly done.

  • Whenever I see Carlyle I get a longing for Stargate Universe =(

  • @GerryTuohyNz Oh, I see. :-) Not a great fan of gin, myself. However, isn't it owned by the same company as JW?

  • This video makes me go and Buy one right now lol

  • His accent is flawless.

  • @jamieisnotstupid It should be , he is a born and bred Scot wee man!

  • @GerryTuohyNz I haven't heard of Bombay whisky, is it good? The Cardhu was a present and, as you know, the main ingredient of JW. I'm awaiting a decent time to open it...

  • RIP Hitchens.

  • Alcohol is POISON. It should be labeled as such. If you want to get high smoke some marijuana. It good for you! Thumbs up if you love weed!

  • @EndTheResistance

To quote Robin Williams "Really? Really? You've fused your ass into the couch and you're giving me shit?" Smoke some pot and chill the fuck out man, damn. Even the pot smokers are hating these days.

  • @EndTheResistance so yes alchohal is poison but isn't it all. weed, alcohol, junk food, adrenalin, you name it l everyone has their vices. Whatever vice they have will take years off their life but i have to ask you do you want 90 chaste, and ascetic pope years, or 27 wild rock star years? I do not know about you but joining the 27 club is fine with me.

  • One take, great actor! Like your Green and Blue, not a fan of the rest. Although Red is ok as a beer chaser with mid strength Gold beer from Oz

  • Comment removed

  • Oh Iove the pipes. Why did he tell him to stop?

  • If Robert keeps walking he might reach Carlisle

  • I have a bottle of Cardhu in front of me...

  • RIP Hitch

  • RIP Christopher Hitchens

  • @tnethacker: i wrote, i would buy a bottle of Johnnie Walker, i did not say, that i want to drink it... ;-) do you know the story about the difficulties making this commercial?

  • Best Commercial Ever.

  • This is quite possibly one of the greatest Ads I have ever seen !

  • I dont´ really like this whisky...but this commercial is great.. i think, i will buy a good johnnie walker....just for this here...

  • @recklinghauser naah. stick to the REAL whiskey brands :)

  • I'd forgotten how much I love scottish accents.

  • Is he the guy from 28 weeks later?

  • @happy51593 yes

  • robert carlisle plays hitler in a film.

  • still tastes awful

    jim beam is my favorite

  • @Song4Alex. Right on! :)

  • @Song4Alex Well that's because you're comparing scotch to bourbon, completely different tastes...

  • @aserian Lawyered!

  • @Song4Alex Have you tried Bulleit bourbon... pretty good stuff.

  • @moominpic no but i will thanks for the suggestion man

  • @Song4Alex You're welcome. I hope you enjoy it. It was a revelation to me... even better because nobody was buying it so they put it on offer....

  • Does someone know where this commercial was shot?

  • @rvr777 scotland

  • @Papelmusic but where exactly in Scotland?

  • @rvr777

"Filmed on location in Inverlochlarig, Porthshire, Scotland"

    @ 06:18

  • rly loved that vid (johnny too) but try to play it on 1.5x or 2x speed :D so funny

  • It's an absolutely terrific commercial! If I was Johnny Walker, I'd hire you in a flash. Have you ever made a trailer for a feature film? And a second strange question, are you from Montana?

    Birdie R P

  • @BirdieRP He obviously didn't make this

  • 67 people have never tried blue label

  • wassup begbie!!

  • Love everything about this ad, specially Robert's accent, and attitude ;-)

  • UNIQUE!!!

  • top class commercial, tip of the hat

  • 67 people stopped walking or had never begun

  • its dr. rush from SGU..its a shame they cancelled season 3

  • Holy shit, think about it. If you messed up even one line you'd have to start ALL THE WAY back to the beginning. Robert Carlysle is a GOD!

  • love this comercial!!

  • The best commercial EVER!!! I love Robert Carlyle...briliant actor from Scotland...the piece of Britain I will always love :-D

  • This guy is from "28 weeks later" (zombie film).

  • @jigaboojones Clever boy! :))))

"This guy" is from Angelas's Ashes, Trainspotting, The Full Monty, Once Upon a Time in the Midlands, Human Trafficking, Flood etc. etc. ....

  • One of the best commercials ever made....

  • Love his accent !

  • 1 shot? great

  • In Soviet Russia, Johnnie Walker has stopped walking.

  • I want to see the outtakes :-)

  • Yes that's correct. Robert Carlyle. Great actor

  • IS THIS THE DUDE ON ONCE UPON A TIME?!??!?! Rumpelstiltskin? or maybe not... but it's an awesome ad none the less

  • @teriberri21 yep he is :)

  • @teriberri21 yea thats him

  • Comment removed

  • That's what I would do with whiskey...put it in the bin...can't stand the stuff. and this guy is a litter- bug...lol...would someone report him...ha !

  • I know this by heart, I just love it.

  • Brilliant Job~ Don't Cross the Line

  • i could listen to him all day talking about anything

  • Little By Little - Oasis

  • Robert Carlyle: pure genius... utter brilliance.

  • Awesome.. But the fella seems like he's just learned how to walk, at the end when he stops talking (5:17)

    Wonderful story nonetheless.

  • How can you be smart enough to be lucky? Shouldn't it be Lucky enough to be smart?! Clearly he's been drinking :) 1:07 sec

  • @samibashir20021 with this quote means that luck doesn't exist, is all about us we make our fates, get it?

  • Keep Walking!

  • Very interesting commercial. I would be so pleased if I would see other commercials like this

  • i find this vid very inspirational, when my father asks me what motivates me to study so hard my response alcohol will surprise him for sure.

  • cool

  • 65 people don't like capitalism.

  • Dr. Rush!

  • hey piper. shut it!

  • karame hayahute marang?

  • is that the dude from 007 the world is not enough

  • Splendid!

  • Awesome !

  • these are the kinds of ads that really market products. very nice.

  • name of the song at the end?

  • i love this commercial and johhny walker was the first bottle of whiskey i ever bought after i turned 21 and i love it

  • @goodguy0920 i love this commercial and johnny walker was the first bottle of whiskey i ever bought after i turned 15 and i love it.

  • @goodguy0920 First bottle I bought the day I turned 21 (just a few days ago) was Yamazaki 12 y.o. Not bad, but it reminded me too much of Chivas Regal. Last night, I had a dram of Johnnie Walker Black at my local bar. Best whisky I've ever tasted...

  • Simply superb...no doubt one of the best ads ever made. No cuts - a cut above the rest.

  • he'll be walking to my house on monday. 4 times actually..

  • Super! Smashing! Genius! Love it (the ad - not the whiskey ..)

  • How many takes?? :)

  • I have been a Johnnie Walker embiber for many years.

I have just sampled the Double Black and it is real smooth. Every other whisky/ whiskey would always be many paces behind and will never catch up. Lovely drop. Keep walking Johnnie.

  • lock, stock and two smoking barrels...

  • Keep walking...............still walking............damnit where did I park my car???! "Black label, keeps you in shape becuz you'll too fucked up to find your car!"

  • the man who sold the world hahahahahaha

  • what a sexy accent...

  • EXcelent i love <3 Johnnie Walker , Label"s :D

  • Its simple as this: The idea of the commercial is to transmit that johnie walker have so much energy, confidence, security in his steps that breaks you the paradigm of (luck is something you can not control) like is of course the meaning. Or well.lets said it the boring-book meaning. Just convince yourself you can be lucky, if you can believe it your days will change..for real ( with small things) if you dont thing thats possible its ok, but dont try to "make sense"somethings that almostpoetic.

  • @Sonny208208 thumbs up :)

  • @Sonny208208 Truth

  • @Sonny208208 ...GOOD comments yours...!!! superb ...!

  • Haha, die Kuh^^

  • How exactly can one be "smart enough to be lucky"?? It would make much more sense to be "lucky enough to be smart."

  • @EpiphoneArchtopLover

    I disagree.

Most people don't realize that being lucky has a LOT to do with taking chances

and with the way you LOOK at what happens to you. So, in other words, how smart you

are when it comes to creating you own destiny. ;)

  • @JoanaMara You can disagree all you want, still doesn't change the fact that to be "Smart enough to be lucky" makes virtually no grammatical sense whatsoever.

  • @EpiphoneArchtopLover Im an investor for my young age I've seen plenty of success. I believe that I am the most luckiest guy in the world. I however never rely on my luck or let the dice roll. I believe I'm smart and I believe that I make my own luck. +1 for Johnny walker his quote "keep walking" has keep me going during the worse times and now I'm somewhere I want to be in life.

and im also drunk after drinking a bottle of johnny walker gold label with my buddies

  • @Snowy123 But that's my point - grammatically at least, "smart enough to be lucky" makes little sense whatsoever. luck comes by chance, as does intelligence, one will not get you the other.

Ps. I'm quite sure I'm the luckiest person alive.

  • @EpiphoneArchtopLover Probably smart enough to recognize and grab opportunities as they turn up? which is often seen as luck...

  • @chemicalsyivan That's just being opportunistic. Opportunistic and lucky are completely different.

  • 很難拍...

  • Two things I love: Trainspotting, and whiskey.

  • Dude, I can't click your annotation at the end.

  • 64 person from turkey

  • How many dazzzze rehearsing this with the steadicam operator?!! This is brilliant!!

  • @mandarinapaletta apparently 2 days :)

  • awsome

  • Imagine if he cocked up his last line XD

  • Here's to hoping Begbie will be back in the Trainspotting sequel, aye?

  • Like if I needed an advertisement to drink whisky tonight... :P

  • One of those rare times when an ad can be not only brilliant and sell a product, but also be inspirational. The concept, execution and after taste of this ad is second to none.

  • why the subtitles??

iam german and hell i can understand him perfectly

  • I'm watching this while drunk on Johnny Walker!!

  • @blott1978 Clearly drunk.....

    Johnnie Walker........

  • wow , great

  • Thans mgm for introducing Robert to me.He's brilliant.

  • that's nice video..i tried them all except 1 Scotch,the White Label...damn, i wish if it's back :)

  • I want a drink

  • Super Beautiful traveling shot !!!!!!! 10/10 !!!

  • I dont know why but I got serious waves of goosebumps during this. Thumbs up if you did too

  • I can't keep walking when I'm drunk...

  • i love that story for Johnnie Walker !! :):):):)

  • I love how they have to have English subtitles for a person who is speaking English, lol.

  • @colonelfantastic89 sigh americans cant understand any accent....

  • Very well done!!! There's so much that gets taken for granted. The narrator arrives at specific places at just the right time to make it seem natural, and the cameraman is so smooth in shooting the narrator that you don't even notice him. The amount of planning, rehearsing, and post-production that went into this is staggering. Let it be known; it's not easy to create a short of this quality. Alot of work went into this. Very well done!!!

  • he walkd a long way lol

  • i love to see more great ads if the FUCKING youtube bar would go away!

  • I feel like a glass of Johnnie Walker and going for a walk now.....

  • great video ;]

  • Comment removed

  • if there werent any subtitles you'd notice how he looks down almost all the time to read his line.. it would have been so much sicker if he was looking at the camera instead

  • @playboycollege nope, he memorized the lines. said so in an interview. :)

  • @playboycollege he's looking down so he doesnt trip over a huge rock and split his head open.

  • Robert Carlyle is another corporate whore? fantastic. Nice to see another great actor is fine with using his own image to fucking SELL SOMETHING.

  • @451harri well, as you will find out if you watch this interview here: watch?v=CABflEb7t3M , the informercial was never ment for public viewing.

  • I will have some Johny Walker tonight to celebrate "Keep on Walking"

  • Bigby what a man.

  • Robert Carlyle o/

He will always be Dr. Nicholas Rush...

  • What's the Background song name?

  • I bet he would be running instead of walking if those zombies were chasing him.

  • Inspiring advertisement.

  • The "shut up piper" its a blink to Seagram´s, ¿rigth?

  • Johnnie Walker Black Label was a good drink, but in my country, Saudi Arabia can not drink simply because it is forbidden, do not know why deny us enjoy a drink spirits.

  • @arman7070 u can't drink, why u know it was good lol

  • @MegaFuckism

I want to tell you that I recently got a liter of this mixture of good and I enjoyed drinking it and the atmosphere was very nice and rainy, or at least this was my feeling

  • This is just as awesome as the scotch itself.

  • 3:56 why are the mountains mooving? oO

  • It happens throughout the film. Most likely it's the effects of the zoom. The cameraman is moving backwards as the speaker is walking forward, and the distance between them isn't always consistent. In order to keep the size of the subject in the composition the same the camera must either zoom in or zoom out, respective to the change in distance. By doing this the background will seem to "shift". This is known as "dolly zoom", or also "Hitchcock zoom".

  • Begbie! :D
